Yeah, I'd be pumped if Valuncianas fell to us at 14. A lot of fans might not be, since he'd be stashed for at least a year, but well worth it, IMO. CXbby must be having a heart attack at seeing Morris to the Bobcats at 9!
I think Bobcats are after him. SF is their biggest need. I don't think it is a coincidence that we are rumored to be after the 8th and the 10th pick, before and after the Bobcats. I think If someone reaches for Jimmer(Kings) Leonard or Vesley drops to the Cats, whom I believe they have rated above Morris. In that case we trade with the Bucks and take Morris 10. If Kings don't reach for Jimmer, the only SF left at 9 will be Morris. In that case we trade with Detroit to steal Morris at 8. 2006 Brandon Roy style! Hopefully we are the robbers this time.
I would contend that Valanciunas not coming over for a year might be even better for our plans than not. That way we could in essence be tanking this upcoming strike-shortened season and running away with two high-lottery caliber players starting on our team in 2012. Either that or having another trade chip in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes should Valanciunas continue to do well in Euroleague.
