12-13M for two more years is steep, and he's only 25 too.

IMO, Josh Smith is more an athletic PF than a SF. So if Josh comes, Scola is going to be traded.

Combo PF's: Smith and Pat is sweeeeet.

I remember Josh Smith did say in some interview awhile back that the 90s Houston Rockets used to be one of his favorite nba teams growing up and Hakeem was one of his favorite players.

Errr....you give up another first rounder to move up 6 spots in an ambigous draft? Really? I'd rather just wait for 14th and pick another guy for the 23rd.

Chuck Hayes isn't going to be our C, unless we end up getting a TD type as a pf.You really need someone who can guard the paint and rebound from the C position.

You are correct surrounded with the right pieces ... err.... I hate that word (funny laugh)....he could be a great player! In fact, I'd take Smith over Lebron any day of the week! Maybe this is the special player that Daryl is waiting for and the reason why he hasn't pulled the trigger for Iguodala.

I know he's an exciting player, blocks shots, dunks all up on everybody, but the guy is a terrible shooter. Especially from the 3.

We don't need him to shoot 3's. We do get one of the best shot blockers in the league which we desperately covet. Hayes and Smith would get it done. I agree with Knote. Draft Vucevic still and were set.

Why the hell would Josh Smith want to come here? Does he not want to win? Unless we absolutely luck out with this draft, we'll be stuck in limbo for quite some time.

Apparently, Chuck Hayes and Kyle Lowry are still vastly underrated. They will prove you wrong again, I promise... :)

Kevin Martin, Josh Smith and Patrick Patterson will make for an excellent supporting cast...

I'd love it, but I don't see Atlanta having any interest in Scola when they have Pachulia and Horford in the frontcourt. I'm dead certain Martin and Chase have to go for this to happen....and they'll probably be asking for Patterson as well (the price is always too high).

spin Martin and Budinger for J. Smith

move up as far as we can and draft Marshon Brooks

move Courtney Lee for Asik, or trade Scola, etc. for more pick(s) and go after Klay Thompson, Motiejunas, etc.

Then let's see how attractive Houston becomes

The Rockets don't have the assets to obtain Smith. And if the Hawks would listen? The outgoing contract value would have to be in the vicinity of Martin or Scola + ~$3M.

Another season of Hayes at C? Crank up the 2012 Lottery Balls.
