dude laziness and no d would show up on stats. Avoidance of contact would result in poor TS%, no defense would result in negative +/-, and bad attitude would be noticeable on the court when you actually watch the player play. Now if this guy manages to post godly stats against the best the Euro league has to offer despite the laziness and bad attitude I'd still take him-having no work ethic certainly didn't prevent Shaq from becoming the most dominant center of his generation.

Stats are ALL SUBSTANCE. Every reb, pt and steal only get recorded on the court when it actually happens, whereas things like "guts, heart, fire" are insubstantial and may or may not be actually there depending on who watches the games.

Donatas Motiejunas is an up and coming special player that I think can finish maturing the right way with the rockets, hes not the "complete package" and probably not the best power forward in europe and might not play to his full potential, some people might translate that by saying he is lazy, I think that he is just young and that he'll grow out of it.

Guys remember Demarcus Cousins all that negativity about him and his maturity issues, people forgot that he had not just talent but star talent and now he's looking better than evan turner, wesley johnson, and derrick favors.

The 76ers have been drafting pretty damn good lately and they are interested in him.
The spurs were one of the only 4 teams Motiejunas worked out for but they don't have any high draft picks so it makes you wonder if they have anything up their sleeves.

Motiejunas had slightly above average stats for a mid-level team, in mid-level European leagues. He did not have godly stats, and he did not even play in the top level leagues in Europe. In fact, he did not play in the Euroleague. When he did play there previously, he was a scrub.

I would be ecstatic if he fell to us. Get him working with Hakeem and I think he could be something special.

i would rather see us draft this guy if we still have our 14 over Valanciunas. why not draft a player that can shoot from outside like dirk, as well as having inside post up moves to boot. they say donatas could possibly be betetr than barganni if his heart stays focusedo n the game of basketball.

Benetton Treviso's Donatas Motiejunas is easily the highest usage European prospect in this group at 12.6 possessions per-game. He doesn't stand out in too many areas in terms of efficiency, but has some unique versatility on paper.

Motiejunas's 0.971 overall points per-possession ranks him right below the middle of the pack, but considering the young Lithuanian was the top interior option on a EuroCup and Italian league semifinals team, it is fair to say that he went up against much stiffer competition than many of the players on this list.

The differences between Motiejunas and Biyombo/Valanciunas are stark. His role included far more opportunities for him to create his own shot and his touches stretched all the way out to three-point range. Motiejunas saw only 7.4% of his possessions as the roll man in the two man game, with nearly 50% of his touches coming from spot-ups and post-ups.

With his back to the basket, Motiejunas converted a slightly below average 47.3% of his shots, and when digging deeper into his situational statistics, we can see that he had some exceptional games making plays around the rim and some subpar outings as well. His efficiency does not stand out in any one category, but he appears fairly average across the board because of his bouts with inconsistency.

The one area where Motiejunas does rank notably above average in this group is as a jump shooter. 26.5% of his shots were jumpers last season, and he scored a very good 1.01 points per-shot on those attempts. His ability to stretch the floor adds a different dimension to how he can be utilized offensively long-term.

A player that has been on the radar of scouts for years now, Motiejunas's strengths and weaknesses are well defined at this point. He's a more mature offensive player than many European big men we've encountered in the past, and if he can continue to improve his toughness and consistency, his situational versatility is going to give him an intriguing set of tools to work with at the next level, particularly when you consider his size.

If this cat has Scola's motor, we wouldn't have a shot at getting him.

He would of been the perfect bigman for Adelmans style.

I think I'll have to pass. Here are two comparisons that are considered "unfavorable".
    http://espn.com/nba/story?storyId=6683166

That's just two opinions but it appears they aren't alone in the dislike of Donatas based on the other scouting reports.

    Lets look elsewhere.
