We need to target that Sac pick, using Scola, clearly. The problem comes next, from what "sources" are saying, there is no way Vesely falls to 7th, because the Wiz really like him, I think the love comes from last year, and there are mock drafts that have Toronto picking him at 5. I think with that 7th pick we draft Leonard. People will say that he doesn´t have the hight ceiling, but we know Daryl, he goes were the sure thing is. A lot of guys don´t see Leonard at an all star game, but there is no one that says that he will not be a starting SF in this league. Vesely game can make a great/terrible transition to the NBA, and Marcus Morris is a big gamble at 7th IMO. What do y´ all think about playing games with Indy??? Indy wants a SG BADLY, when they draft at #15, Klay Thompson and Alec Burc will be already gone (apparently), and all they would have left is Marshon Brooks to fill in the gap at SG, a lot of mock drafts have Indy drafting him. What do you think about drafting him at 14, and then offering Courtney Lee for the #15 pick for Moutejunas or Byombo or Nikola Vucevic??? This would not be a lateral move because Courtney lee is a FA (RFA???) next year also, as Dragic, and I think he will get payed (not that much but still..), you can get a guy that can be a spark of the bench, with higher ceiling then Lee, more years of cheap contract (kind of like drafting Reggie Jackson to take Dragic spot) And I don´t know why, but I think I have coachablee fever , I am starting to think that, AT WORST, Brooks is Jamal Crawford 2.0, meaning great scorer only. I actually think that his underrated athleticism plus his wingspan at the wing can help him getting better on D (like Leonard hand size). And I like the Idea of him growing behind KM...... 1) Scola and Dragic for the 7th pick, draft Leonard (if Vesely is already drafted like he probably will) 2) 14# - Marshon Brooks 3) Trade Lee for the 15 pick, I really don´t have an idea if we are overpaying or underpaying here, might be called out by CFs.... Draft Byombo , Motiejunas or Nikola Vucevic 4) 23# - Draft Reggie Jackson (I don´t think he will be there at #28) 5) 38# IDK, I don´t think Jeremy Tyler or Jimmy Butler will be available so.... Thabeet/Byombo(Motiejunas/Vucevic)/Brad Pat/Hayes/Hill Leonard/Bud/Twill KM/Brooks Lowry/Reggie IMO this is a very balanced roster, not too different LTF PeAcE
Scola would have to be the centerpiece of the deal, but I think Dragic might be the one that puts them over the top into accepting the deal. They need a big PG to pair with Tyreke and Dragic might be a great fit -- bigger PG, good defensively, can shoot the three, run the break and penetrate. Also, I already talked to Daryl -- we aren't picking Marshon until at least the #15th pick. $20 is a lot of money now days!
Asik/Thabeet Scola/Hayes/Monteijunas Granger/Korver Martin/TWill Lowry/Dragic Trade with Bulls Asik, Korver, #28, #30 for Lee, Hill, future first Trade with Indy 2Pat + #14 + Miller's insurance + Bud + #23 for Granger + #15 Draft Monteijunas with #15, fill out roster with rest of draft picks or combine to move up.
Don't know if it has been mentioned before, but I would like it if the Rox tried to snatch Beasley from the T'Wolves, especially since he might become available if they end up drafting Derrick Williams. Beasley is young, he would be a huge upgrade at SF, and he has a lot of potential.
We need someone to mentor Terrence Williams. He's getting in trouble for his tweets -- Beasley could teach him how to get in trouble for twitpics as well.
As much as people would love to see Beasley play SF (including opposing SF's) he is better suited at the 4.
Maybe if we were to get those two nuts together they might do something. Beasley did show that he could actually play within a team. Come on man, damn!!
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...wojnarowski_josh_smith_hawks_nba_draft_062011 Good player but more in the mold of Martin/Scola as a tier below star status. Don't believe adding him would make us contenders although it may make us somewhat better.
My trade proposal for Josh Smith... Our best most tradeable asset for Smith is Luis Scola, but with Atlanta already possesing a PF in Al Hordford I would propose this deal. Rockets receive: SF Josh Smith -The Rockets get a defensive minded SF to shore up their defense at the wing as well as improve the teams overall defense. Nuggets receive: PF Luis Scola -The Nuggets get a legit low post scoring option to replace Kenyon Martin, and would be a great compliment to their shot blocking center Nene Hilario inside the paint. Hawks receive: PG Goran Dragic, SF Danillo Gallinari, C Timofay Mozgov and Brad Miller(practically an expiring contract) -The Hawks get help at every position that they need with young cheap talent, while still cutting cost and getting rid of a disgruntled Josh Smith. *(Rockets replace Goran Dragic through the draft)
With all the rumors for Josh smith and now. Hibbert I have a 4 team trade. Let me know what you all think.. Houston In: Josh Smith, Darko +15pick+20th pick Out:Hill, Miller, Scola, Lee + Picks 14th, 23rd, Indiana In: Hill +2nd pick Out: Hibbert+15th pick ATL In: Miller, Flynn, Hibbert, Price+14th Out: JSmith Minny In: Scola, C.Lee+23rd pick Out. Darko, Flynn, 2nd pick+20th Houston does this to get a decent center better than some of the players on the board, we know what he can bring to the table vs unproven rookie. We still get 2 picks to be active in the draft. We also get Josh Smith who can play SF/PF. we sign chuck back on and we have a decent squad. Pg; Lowry/Dragic SG: Martin/William/Bud SF:Bud/Smith/Williams PF:Smith/PPat/Hayes C: Darko/Hayes/Thab Indy does this because they want the number 2 pick. They get Hill a young talent that can learn the C. and they draft Williams at 2. It is their original trade proposal to Minny and they get the same result. Atl: Rumor has it he is Tired of the trade chatter is ok about leaving. Atl will get a Center they wanted to play next to Hartford in Hibbert, a Good back up PG in Flynn and they get a 1st round pick which they previously had none. Minny: wants proven veterans, Scola would mess well with rubio and can run the floor. Clee has been in the finals and would solve their problems at SG and would give them a defensive presence on the wing. I think this would be a win win trade for all involved. There would probably be a few more players or something added to the trade to make it work dollar wise. What do you guys think?
Did you forget about Kevin Love? He plays the same position as Scola.. Minnesota would not be interested.
Lee+Hill+Memphis Obligation For Asik+filler+#28,#30 Then #14+#23+#28+#38 to CLE for #4(Kanter or even Knight) We retain #30 and go BPA. We get a couple of giants that could probably play together in lineups at times. Knight is also enticing and I suppose he could step in and play back up sg alongside Dragic.
