I dvr'd and watched it last night. I can't say it was anything great, but I didn't dislike it, either. It's only a pilot, so I'm not going to knock it. I wasn't exactly glued to it, but it wasn't horrible. I'll probably keep watching it if they don't cancel it. BTW, anybody know why the aliens don't attack them in the day or just send flying things in at night to blow up their camps? Did they mention anything about the aliens being averse to the light or something? Maybe I missed it.
Yeah I didn't follow that either. It was pretty convenient when they did attack, or how about the one they encountered in the armory then casually got away from -_-
I'm guessing there is a reason for it. Because they did seem like they were in a rush to get to their destination before nightfall so must be something that is to be revealed later. It was only the pilot so i don't know what many were expecting...it was strongly hyped so i'm not surprised to see strong criticism though.
I thought it was alright and it has some really good actors cast in it. For a Spielberg product it was pretty lame though. He just seems way past his prime. This would have been cutting edge 25 years ago but now it's just a run of the mill sci fi series. This got way too much hype by TNT.
They have to go grittier. It is just ok . . nothing special yet. . . I think it could use some of the TERMINATOR 4 or Battle Star Galactica type grittiness to be added to it. Rocket River
Have there been any gritty shows on TNT? I agree with you. I think a lot of their good shows now can be a little 'grittier" like Leverage. This was an ok pilot ill keep tuning in.
It felt like a better version of The Walking Dead to me (which is not too impressive cause that show sucked) I will give it a few more episodes, but its decent so far
What's everyone think of this show now? I've yet to watch an episode and don't wanna waste time if it sucks.
Dialogue/writing it pretty bad. Alot of the scenes are extremely cliche to where a dumb monkey could have worded it better. But, it's not bad. Way better than the new V, that was just terrible.
Go ahead and watch. It might get better. If it matters to you, Falling Skies has already been renewed for a 2nd season.
I've watched every episode now and on a scale of 1-10, it's probably a 6 so far. I don't really watch much primetime tv, but this keeps me hooked, not because it's great, but I keep thinking it's going to be good. I'll keep watching despite the fact I'm concerned how they're going to expand this whole plot line.
I'm enjoying it so far, but I just don't like how you KNOW nothing bad is going to happen to the main characters. It's almost like TNT refuses to rock the boat because they don't think their audience can handle it.
I think 'V' was better than this. At least stuff happened in 'V' Nothing happens in this show. It is crawling along at the pace of a snail. 4 one hour episodes and thus far not much has happened as far as moving the story along. For me I DVR it and watch it later and i'll probably watch the rest of the show mainly because of i'm curious on why the aliens are here...which i'm betting they plan to string the viewers along for as long as possible with that. Also... Spoiler Why is the doctor so against killing the alien POW and what...2 hours later she's the one doing it? There is not much drama between the characters so far, she's been protesting on and on about how it needed to be studied and that was their only choice...then pow she turns into some deranged killer and kills the thing with her bare hands. Not only that where is the action? They go to rescue Ben and not a single shot is fired. Not much goes on in this here show.
I've been watching it, but simply because I don't get the infatuation with all the shows about good looking chicks who cut open bodies, solve crimes, and flirt with the male lead. Seriously, can't they come up with something new? Definitely no Firefly or the second Battlestar Galactica. Not even close. Not awful, but it needs a lot of work.
I'm addicted to this show and I don't really know why. Captain Weavers character is just r****ded and I don't understand why the children collect scrap metal... Shows sort of addicting even though it's not that good.
