Not so sure about that. Since it was an accident which lead to the deaths of two people and there was a suspicion of alcohol, there is a very good chance there will be an autopsy. As such, we may know his BAC at the time of death - I'll reserve judgment until then.
Geez, stop with that ridiculous nonsense. Yes, not making negative comments in situations like this actually increases dunk driving . I'm sure that when someone says "RIP" or does video tributes because they were fans of their work or just out of respect to people that die these type of deaths, others just see that and think, "Oh, he's telling him to rest in peace, therefore, it must be ok to drink and drive! I mean, they're actually sad that this person died. So drinking and driving is A-Okay!" Get real, man. If someone you loved died this way, a parent, sibling, daughter or wife/husband, you wouldn't just dismiss their death and make negative comments about it because you think it sends the right message about drunk driving.
Car crash at 3am with maybe 3 people in the car and a known 'hard partier' behind the wheel? Nah, probably just getting home from a late night bible study group...
The fact that Ryan died and Knoxville is still alive reaffirms my belief that god does not exist......... RIP Ryan
If someone I loved died in this way I'd be freaking pissed as all hell. What if it was 2 people I loved? What if the driver was my brother and the passenger my kid? Would that mean I should pass along my RIPs and video tributes? I didn't say don't be sad. Clearly there'd be huge sadness there. But not only is this not a loved one, but this thread, generally, reeks of a lack of seriousness with regards to drunk driving. From "everybody's driven drunk" comments to responses to those pointing out how selfish and stupid the act is evoking a "moral superiority" or wishing the victim "burns in hell." So, yes, I absolute do believe a louder, more heard and more consistent voice pointing out how incredibly stupid, dangerous and selfish drunk driving is would be helpful. I'd venture to guess more than a few teenage drivers out there today tweeted funny comments about it, posted video tributes, etc. And while pun(ny) is certainly funny, and video tributes have their place, psuedo-attacking those pointing out the opposite side makes my case...
The last I saw, they were as yet unable to identify the body. I suspect they have an idea, but no definitive ID.
R.I.P. Sucks to see the Jackass crew lose a guy. They kinda grew up we us and got big as we all grew up.
You must not watch the show alot or the movies, otherwise you would know Johnny put his life on the line alot for some of his skits he does. I know other guys on the show do it too but he's hardcore.
I know Knoxville is one crazy SOB...but he doesn't seem like the type to drink and and drive while going 100 mph.
Does anybody care that this dude was drunk and ended up killing someone (or even two as the article speculates)? R.I.P. I guess.
I feel bad for his friends and family...and of the guy in the car with him he killed. If it really was drunk driving, the critics are sadly right and I really can't disagree with them....though I would probably give it a little more time before pointing it out, but that's just me.
I go out in Houston a minimum of 3 nights per week...and by going out, Im not talking about going to the local bar for a beer or two. Im 31 and I have yet to drive while intoxicated. Im not saying this to place myself on a pedestal, but Im saying it to show that its clearly possible to avoid driving drunk. To call people idiots over this is pretty laughable.
It really is sad. I'm 19, and Jackass/Viva La Bam/CKY was a big part of my youth (junior high and high school). I never missed an episode of Viva La Bam and always stayed up to watch Jackass. Won't be the same. RIP.
