So I just recently purchased the Motorola Atrix and I'm trying to download the Gameboid/N4Oid and other programs that let you play older systems on the phone itself. I've seen many people do it online via videos and read how to do it. Yet everytime I download the file and try to install the package it tells me that the phone will not install the file because it doesn't know if it is secure. Anyone had this problem before? Thanks
Probably related to how ATT locks down phones to prevent 3rd party apps. Good news is their rolling out updates to open them up to 3rd party apps like the Amazon App Store
Hmm well I do have ATT. The message I get when I try to install N64oid is as follows. "This application comes from an uknown source, and for your security only applications from trusted sources can be installed.
You might find help in these threads. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775393 http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-games/27211-how-set-up-gameboid-snesoid.html If that doesn't help, just type the error message you're getting into google.
if i recall correctly, google recently (2 weeks?) took down all the simulator apps by yongzhe(the developer) i snatched up gameboid a while ago, but without physical keys, it gets annoying playing on a touch screen as far as motorola locking stuff down so u cant play games... i doubt that... motorola shouldnt have the capabilities that says so and so file cannot interact with so and so file

I've heard that AT&T Androids don't always have a setting to allow install of non-Market apps - is this true? Edit: Oops, missed this... If that's true, why the hell do people ever give a dime to this crappy company?
Some people just want a phone with "internet" so it has to be an Android phone... my in-laws, case in point... they don't know APPS and have a tough time with new technology. Not to say they don't know, but they just don't need the apps, but DO need the Internet stuff. It's easy to unlock that, I did.
