How dare you?!?!? (((lol))) post mj era, definitely. Better than jordan and nique? I say no but I think this is a lot closer and a lot more debatable than say mj vs Kobe etc. I say Carter had better dunk contest dunks and more creative in game dunks. I say mj had better in game dunks and could finish better in traffic. Nique lacked the creativity but was a freak who could jump out of the gym. Clyde drexler seemed to be a threat to dunk from anywhere on the court inside the free throw line. Nique=high jump champ, Clyde=long jump champ. Outside of those 3 in the last 20 years, I wouldn't put anyone else in the same class as Carter. If I'm missing someone, let me know. LBJ I say no. He just dunks hard but I wouldn't call them "spectacular"
wtf are you talking about? What has Durant accomplished so far? Nothing. Just a scoring title. It doesn't mean anything.
Guess it depends whether you like windmills and 180's or and 1 dunks over centers. I think VC is king when it comes to creativity and uncontested dunks. Better dunk contest dunker. MJ king of in game, and 1, going over and through people to dunk on your whole city dunks.

A case can be made for each. I can't even argue with you with a straight face when you say Vince is the best. Like saying PB&J is better than Ham and Cheese though. Matter of preference. I happen to like "And 1" dunks over Centers. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qf4H3OR-7IE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/H8M2NgjvicA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tyUf-9ruJi8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Definitely deserves Honorable Mention <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HQeMhYJe5JA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qsk1dx-73VA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
JLOBABYDADDY, all of those dunkers are great, but Vince Carter looks like he's on a pogo-stick. So smooth.
False. This may have been true before the Olympics. After VC destroyed Weis in that game, he instantly became the greatest dunker of all-time. That dunk was THE greatest dunk I've ever seen.
why does durant camp 5 feet behind the 3 point line? why does he put up 35 footers when his team is down by 3..? if he has the ability to get to the rack like that why restrict yourself to be a soft jumpshooter. this is why i think durant isnt a killer..
Really? I concede and it is undisputed that this was the single most impressive dunk I've ever seen. But to say VC dunks over people and gets more "and 1" dunks over centers (Well "got" because I'm assuming we are talking about both dunkers in their primes). MJ probably has more dunks with contact over 7' centers just in this video than VC had in his whole career. I definitely agree that VC is the king of open court, highlight reel dunks. I think his dunk contest in 2000 was the greatest performance ever. MJ is the king of "Posterization". How can you argue with a straight face taht VC was as good at dunking over people? <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SGLaKfEyRL4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I did that in pro am in 91 and I'm 6'4. Its only seem amazing when you've never done it or have never seen it done before. In fact, I saw a raggedy dude do it in a game in like 87 and that's what gave me the idea. In fact he did it in traffic too at fonde.
Vince Carter is the best in game dunker and the best dunk contest dunker. Sorry MJ is not the best at everything. I can't believe people actually think its crazy for people to call Carter the best dunker ever
Two consecutive 50-win seasons with the youngest playing rotation in the NBA both years and the Western Conference Finals this year. First-team All-NBA. Plus he's 22 and only played 4 NBA seasons. Carrying a Team USA squad (with the other best players sitting out) on his back to a gold medal last summer. Is that enough for you?
