Morey has shown that he cares little for convention or consensus when it comes to draft picks. Who do you think he'll pick (that will disappoint) and who will he pass on that you want? Post why you don't want X and why you do want Y. Feel free to post past years as well. NOTE: This is not a pro or anti-Morey post. It is not dependent on who is "right" with the various picks (Morey or yourself). It's just about who you really do/do not want and why you think it will turn out this way.

Ex: 2007 I'm not sure who I wanted when we picked AB. But when I heard we bought the pick from Seattle I was very excited. I knew we'd go with Glen Davis. I felt like he'd be good because he was a double-double in college, shut down Aldridge in the tournament, and we needed a big man to play D down low. We went with Landry and I was crushed.

2011: I will be disappointed when Morey drafts:
    14 Vucevic 23 D. Morris 38 a European who we'll stash (Bogdanovic?)
I think Vucevic is too slow and unathletic. I'm not sure why we need a PG at 23. Stashing Europeans hasn't helped us in the past.

    and passes on:
14 Biyombo or T. Thompson 23 Tyler Smith or Tobias Harris 38 Jordan Williams
I'm buying into the Biyombo hype. I think Tristan is young and a great shotblocker. Tyler Smith is very raw but athletic. Tobias Harris was highly ranked going into college and actually did really well his freshman year (he's young). Jordan Williams is a great rebounder and is young with potential to improve. Morey will pass on all these picks because he does not like young players who have not really proven anything and will need time to develop (generally).

Morey will disappoint CF when he drafts another PF or a PG and passes on a SF or C

I'll be a little upset if he passes on Jeremy Tyler. However, if Biyombo or Valanciunas somehow freefall to 14, I will be pissed if he passes on them.

I'll be pissed if he drafts one of the Morris brothers at 14 and passes on everyone else.

If Donatas Motiejunas and Bismack Biyombo are picked before us and Morey passes on Hamilton. Chase is cool but Hamilton can not only shoot but can also rebound. When Chase's shot is not falling he is basically useless out there.

There are so many different ways the team can go that it would be hard for me to be upset over passing on this guy or that guy. That being said, if they don't pick a center, i'll be a little troubled.

He will disappoint me if he doesn't move up and none of the hyped big men drops to 14. This has nothing to do with trusting him to do his job. I thought Patterson was a great pick, and was at the same time disappointed we didn't move up to get Cousins.

With the lockout looming on the horizon, and next season still up in the air, at least a sexy pick will give me something to look forward to while waiting.

I would, but with two underachieving bigs already on our roster (Hill and Tabeet) Tyler is too much of a wild card to me. I would rather have someone like Josh Selby with greater upside.

I'll be pissed if he listens to what CF has to say. We could have been pissed at the Patterson pick, but we know how that really turned out. If I was GM of the Rockets, I would steer clear of this BBS. But, being a fan gives me the unique perspective of hindsight.

I think we made the right decision in taking Landry over Big baby. Landry might not be the same player he was here in Houston but when he was here he gave us great production. Legit 6th man

If Biyombo falls to 14 and he passes, I'm going to throw a brick at my tv.

I'm always shocked by Rockets picks, but since Morey started drafting, the players he nabs make sense.

If we get Jimmer, I'll be upset, if we don't trade for a center or draft one with our first pick, I'll also be upset. However, I generally trust Morey when it comes to doing his part to make things happen.

I've always trusted DM's decisions...except when it comes to wings. The only wing draft he hit on was C-bud, the rest turned out to be flops like Greene and the dude we drafted last year (forgot his name already).

Anyway, I'll be pissed if we end up trading up and getting derrick williams or another pg that isn't Jimmer.

I'll also be pissed if passes on Jemery Tyler if he's available at 23rd.

Morey will disappoint me if we draft at 14. It means we weren't able to swing a deal to move up or down.

haha, i kinda agree, not really a bust but high risk, he could well turn out to be another Dorsey, on the other hand, he could also pan out to be a Ben Wallace. i guess in order to be on rebuilding mode, high risk is a must. but then, its just the 14th pick in a weak draft. at least its not like the 1st pick and you end up picking Olowonkandi or Kwame Brown or something like that.
