It might be cheaper to buy a stand up unit at home depot, and just run it seperately from your central air.

I had an apartment the 2 summers ago that the electic bill was atrocious in the summer months. I ended up putting window units in 2 rooms and I rarely messed around with the crappily inefficient central air. The bill did go down, do remember how much but it was a good chunk.

Maybe. We're calling the energy company because they somehow sent us 3 bills already even though we've been here for less than 7 weeks.

If this AC **** doesn't get resolved within the next week we're moving out.

Damn that sucks. I remember last summer the apt I was staying had a ****ty central AC. Managed to run the bill pretty high despite attempts by the landlord to "fix" it. Luckily I was only subleasing for the summer and it was an under the table deal where I only paid for rent and not utilities. So :p on my leaser when she *****ed at me for why her bill is so high.

I now believe in energy efficient systems. We're double pained, everything is energy star or whatever, we run both the top floor and bottom floor at 70, which feels like 65, and our bill was $154.00 through Gexa. Happy with that.

Our water bill not so much. $160.00 is a bit much. NEED A TROPICAL DEPRESSION!

Crap, it was 114 in parts of Texas yesterday. It was 104-109 in the DFW area and outskirts with winds gusting up to 50+ mph. It must've felt like a blast furnace. I decided to go up "north" to escape the heat. It was only in the 90's in Arkansas.

Sadly, our chances of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday seem to be dwindling by the hour.

We just woke up to our first morning in Sweden with it 59 degrees outside. I love sleeping with the windows open and the fresh clean air. We hadn't planned on coming this year but the drought changed our minds. It felt like I was suffocating there.

Looking forward to some 55 degree nights.

How can you live with temps that low? Seems too chilly. I run 82 degrees at my house.
Anyways, at least its raining again.
