This is what i think we should do. Trade Kevin Martin for the 2nd pick in the draft and roll the dice on Derrick Williams becoming a star. It works two ways. You rid the team of Martins cap space for a rebuilding team. If it doesnt turn out real good and Williams is only decent then you still get a high draft pick next year plus a decent player. If it works out? You get a younger star player who can possibly play better defense than Kevin Martin can. SG who can shoot are a dime a dozen and you could find Martins replacement easily. Derrick Williams one of two prospects who could possibly turn into stars in this league in this draft. Unless you are a Jimmer Fredette believer than that makes possibly three.

We trade TWill + 23rd + 38th to the Bulls for Asik. Get Leonard at 14.

Is it Bismark or Bismack? I have seen it both ways.

It's spelled Bismack, but pronounced Bismark.

Sixers are looking for a big man in this draft and is about to trade Igoudala. Williams replaces Igoudala and Thabeet is a big man.

Wolves looking for a veteran somebody with playoff experience.

    This is what i predict.

    Lee, #14th, #23rd for #2 (Williams) & Tolliver.

Thabeet, Williams, #38th for #16th (Brooks) & Nocioni.

Scola, Budinger for #7th (Leonard), Udrih, Whiteside

    Yao, Whiteside, Miller, Tolliver
    Patterson, Hill
    Williams, Leonard, Nocioni
    Martin, Brooks
    Lowry, Dragic, Udrih

Miller, Nocioni and Udrih will be contracts that will be kinda hard to move.

Of course if we can get Whiteside and Biyombo both with 7'7 wing spans and known for shot blocking that would really improve our interior defense.

I predict disappointment and head scratching consternation. It's a Rocket's tradition. The pick, trade, switch, or whatever will be lauded as "great" but will seem stupid. I have been a Rockets fan for a very, very long time, I promise that my prediction will come true.

Somehow, I'm just thinking that you may be closer to reality than the clown that predicted the Rockets will wheel and deal their scraps into Dwight Howard.

Don't know why I feel that way. Something about your presentation maybe. It just screamed "reality". As opposed to the omnipresent "we're moving up but no one else is". Or the occassional..."we're a Jimmer from competing with the Mavs".

The typical BPA without a focus on the Center postion is...frankly...YMCA.

I hate being negative about the team I love, but since the the championships (the Les Alexander era) the Rockets drafts have been, well, largely awful. Maybe a little better under Morey, but he has picked some real duds as well.
The team has as recent history of building through trades, but they haven't built much.

i think the rockets will somehow get ahold of jimmer fredette and hold him over the jazz head til they give us milsap, future picks etc...

not sure who we will end up with, but if morey is smart, he will get jimmer and turn jimmer into a three way deal where we get some good depth and future considerations.

here in utah, the fans are absolutely convinced the jazz will land jimmer. if morey lands him and 'leaks' that he is trying to deal him to the jazz, the fans will FREAK OUT if the jazz dont trade for him.

i know its a dick move for morey to do this, but it would work.

the fans here will friggin riot in the streets (or start drinking caffeine, what have you) if the the jazz don't get him.

if the jazz get jimmer, he instantly becomes one of the most famous players in jazz history. the jazz will sell more tickets than they ever have (byu alum all over the valley would buy season tix just to watch their former byu star). he would have a cult following regardless of how he performs. and jimmer mania will continue in utah for years to come...

I agree that the Rockets draft will likely disappoint but that is all based upon expectations. In hindsight, Morey seems to always win in the draft. (How could we take Landry over McRoberts?! )

    Bad Picks:
    Joey Dorsey
    Jermaine Taylor
    Brad Newley? (OHMSS disagrees)
Donte Greene - (Got us Ron Artest, so hard to call a bad pick from a Rockets perspective)

    Good Picks:
    Brooks
    Landry
    Buddy
    Patterson

All his strikes are low costs moves. Bought second rounders. Clever trading. Besides you literally are not going to hit on all your players. The draft is a crap shoot by nature. Its impossible to simply make great picks all the time. One might say... inconceivable!

There is more of an argument for Morey's trades but to not have faith in Morey at draft time is just silly. He's very, very good.

The highest hes picked is at 14! The book is far from closed but so far, he's done a great job finding talent. His real test will come when he gets a higher pick or hopefully, (trades up for one).

    Officially, Biyombo's wingspan is 7-6.

I agree...seems like morey's second round picks tend to fail with Chase being the exception. We don't really know his track record with the top picks, but the Patterson pick was a good one. Hopefully he pulls through this year with the first rounders and picks a stash pick with the second. At least Lull has a chance to be good, and we have a better chance hitting on internationally talent.

A guy with a high motor and can play defense resembles Dennis Rodman who also had a high motor and could play defense nothing wrong with having that type of player.

In all actuality if the Rockets don't move up i think their main target is Fredette or Leonard with #14 AND #23 will be Vucevic or Brooks. But by judging history looks like Morey could end up dealing Lee and #23 for Asik, #28 and #30 assuming Vucevic or Brooks is gone. And i predict Biyombo will fall to #11. I predict Montiejunas, that other white center, Singleton, Morris, etc... Will all be taken ahead of Fredette, Leonard, Brooks, Vucevic. The Knicks want Biyombo and Brooks. The Sixers are looking to add a big man. So theoretically speaking we can hold Fredette, Brooks and Vucevic hostage.

So i think Fredette looks like the most likely to slip to #14. While i also think Morey will trade up to #2 and/or #7 and/or possibly even to #16.

Newley and Eliyahu are every bit as good as Llull is as overall players. I don't get why so many people are always talking about Llull as such an asset and never about Newley and Eliyahu.

Newley and Eliyahu are every bit as good of assets as Llull is.

Just so you know, Motiejunas is a power forward. He could not come remotely close to playing center. I know that stupid sports writers can list this guy as a center, but he is absolutely not a center.

It's not even a possibility for him.
