First memory of the Rockets in general: Them getting swept by the Lakers when Steve Francis was here. ( I was a Magic fan here)

First memory as a fan: McGrady's and Yao's first game together....such promise. :(

when I was a couple of years old (probably 4 just after they won their ships) my dad knew a buddy that also worked for HPD with him that'd work security at their practices at the old compact center. So one day I got to go into the locker room and meet a lot of people. I got a picture of me when I was little wearing hakeems warm up top and it went down to the floor lol. also another rocket (forget his name) held me up to the rim and I dunked the ball. pictures with matt bullard and clyde drexler. and an official NBA ball with barkley, hakeem, drexler, and calvin murphy signatures on them. that day was so amazing.

I'll try to find the old pictures and scan them in and post them or something

I vaguely remember the first championship, and I always fell asleep trying to watch the 95 one which as we know was over quite quickly. My first concrete memory is my dad taking me out school to go to the parade, just to be late and see the Houston streets littered with clutch city again posters.

I went to a preseason game in october '93 here in Mexico, Houston Rockets vs NY Knicks. I was sitting behind the Knicks bench, and NY won that game.

My parents letting me stay up late on a school night to watch the '81 and '86 Finals against the Celtics, and the excitement of my father who was never a big sports fan, and not very interested in basketball at all.

I don't quite remember the year, but it was definitely when Cuttino and Steve Francis in their first year together.
Cuttino must have been in an injury because I remember vaguely Bill Worrel saying "The Return of Cuttino Mobley" or something and then Mobley went off on scoring. I was basically blown me off and I got pumped up after that game (they won it I think).

    Been a fan since.

I was so repulsed by this comment that I had to remind myself not to hate you. It's not your fault you saw this particular moment in time. I can still smell the bleach in my eyes. I honestly have friends who quit watching the NBA that day. We watched that game at my mom's house. When he hit that shot, one of my friends went out into the front yard and threw up, and we were not drinking.

Playing ball in the driveway in the mid to late 70's wearing my homemade Calvin Murphy "jersey" (red marker on t-shirt).

I remember writing "Murphy" on the jersey but writing #24 (Moses' number) on the first one I made. It was my way of pretending to be both of them, I guess (I was like 8 years old...lol).

(Best memory was after winning Game Six in the Knicks Finals series and being at Bennigan's at Kirby and 59 afterwards. The city was like a huge family - hugging and high fiving with strangers. Awesome.)

Those were great teams. We pushed the Celtics to six games in both finals. Pushed them hard. Kevin McHale played on both of those amazing Boston teams, in 1981 as a rookie, and played well. Either of those Houston teams would lay waste to today's league, in my opinion, and I don't see a team of Boston's caliber around.

Man! I was there too! I distinctly remember a group of guys walking right past a cop into Bennifans while smoking a huge joint. It was emergency services only that night. Anything non-violent was completely ignored. People were driving on the medians. LOL! Good times.

lol.... Me and my brother walked in with a group of girls we had met a few minutes before at a stop light.

Help up my Maxwell jersey and cold one, and asked if they wanted to come with us.

They were so busy I answered the phone 'cause no one could get to it - just grabbed it and said "Bennigan's".....lol.

I remember some guy wearing a Shawn Kemp jersey and we were all giving him a hard time. Man, we need another championship.

"Hakeem has David Robinson just BAMBOOZLED."

I was still a kid then. After that I stopped watching basketball, then after the Indiana/Lakers Finals I slowly got back into it all and settled back with rooting for the Rockets-- though those years weren't the happiest.

'86 the Rockets were playing the Lakers in a regular season game and Olajuwon was eating Kareem up. I remember the announcer saying "There is a monster growing in Houston." or something like that.
