    Same here!

I really don't remember much except for Sleepy going off on some defenseless team.

I guess it wasn't a Rockets memory, but Nick Anderson and one of the biggest chokes in playoff history. Olajuwon's game winning tip-in is large. But I'll never forget how I felt when Olajuwon hit the 3-pointer from the corner in the final minute of Game 4.

This song still gives me goose bumps. If you watched the series you know why! Sorry, embedding has been disabled.

Listening to Hakeem miss the three in game seven against the Sonics in '93.

First game was December 29, 1994. Maxwell falling out of bounds drains the three to win it.

I was 8 years old. My father took me to my first Rockets game at the Summit. I asked him, "Who is good?". He pointed down at Akeem and said, "Him."

He didn't lie. I don't remember who we played. I don't remember Dream's stat line. But I do remember that he completely dominated. I was in awe.

I am not a sports fan. I'm not remotely interested in any sport outside of basketball. And do you know what? I doubt I'd be a basketball fan either if I didn't continue to grow up with Hakeem showing me just how beautiful basketball can be.

I'm 34 now. Rockets fan til' death.

Anyway, I'm 32 and I remember my dad watching the Finals in 86. I didn't have a clue about basketball at first, but by the end of the series, I was a huge Rockets fan, and I really liked Bird so I follow the Celtics too to this day. (Thought I should probably hate them!) I also am big Red Sox fan since around that time too. I collected sports cards and had Clemens, Greenwell and Boggs rookies. I also think they were the first team I saw play the Stros at the Dome, so I guess I started following them back then too. So I'm basically a fan of everything Houston and the Celts and BoSox.

Could be wrong, I don't think there was interleague play back in the 80's, so maybe it was with Rocket coming out of UT and I had the cards...not sure now...

There wasn't inter-league play back then. My dad used to take me to Arlington to go watch the Rangers so we could see our favorite American league teams (like the Oakland A's with Canseco and McGuire! HAHA)

Reading the program and learning the names of the team and studying their stats and stories before the first game my father took me to when I was 6 or so and then, immediately after, discovering my favorite players for the first time as I watched them play. Moses and Robert Reid were sentimental favorites right away, but Calvin and Rudy were my first true sports heroes. The arena was loud and that scared my young and sensitive self, but it was worth it. It was my first taste of Houston Rockets basketball and I've been hooked ever since.

I started following the Rockets before this but it was the end of a game that i THINK was the knicks, the rockets were down 1. This was the era of david wesley and bob sura. I think it was bob sura that heaved a halfcourt shot at the buzzer that went in! I was in total disbelief because at first they didnt count it then it showed on the TV that the Rockets had won

You couldn't have picked a better time to become a Rockets fan, Batman. Those were some great teams, and the guys you mentioned were some of my most favorite players, ever, even after all these years.

I can't remember. I was following the Rockets when they were in San Diego so when I heard they were moving to Houston was so excited but I can't remember the first memory. I do remember going to a Harlem Globetrotter game the summer just before the Rockets moved to Houston and the BIG E was in attendance and afterwards my brother got his autograph. It was a big deal.

    Hilarious...

Mine was the finals.. I was in 5th grade and we got to watch the game in the muddle of school. Hated the Celtics since then.

Hopefully Mchale will make me change that tune...
