Back end of the lottery, weak draft, ehh not much. What did Morey tweet, NBA draft lottery #soundsbetterthanitis
Unfortunately, due to it being twitter, he left out the 2nd part of the message. ...14th pick, which the Rockets would readily give up in a package for the 2nd pick.
Value-wise, I think we'll get the best return if we kept it ourselves, since Morey has shown to be an exceptionally good talent scout. Though I'm pretty sure this pick will be thrown in if we're to trade up.
I think it's hard to quanitify, other than the obvious (a little better than #15, a little worse than #13). Maybe this question will make it real: Would we trade the #14 for Omer Asik? Would Chicago do it?
Let me go a little farther: For which of these big men would you give up the #14? Dalambert (resigned for $6 million a year) Omer Asik Kendrick Perkins Nene Kaman Tyson Chandler Deandre Jordan Javale McGee
LOL! And when PP becomes the next Chris Bosh in 2 years you'll want to trade our 2013 lottery pick back for him.
Any of them. Another way to think of it: what slot in the 2010 draft is the 2011 #14 worth? I doubt we get anyone as promising as Patterson from this draft. Maybe #18, where Eric Bledsoe was drafted? EDIT: Or, conversely, if you were to trade Patterson for a 2011 pick, what's the lowest pick you'd consider? I think #5.
