    yes, but it's indicative of what the Obama Adminstration's priorities are when it comes to surveillance. instead of "change" for the better...we have "change" for the big, old, nasty same.

    anyways, I'm guessing this thread wasn't made for that (but rather to dump on Bush, whose legacy is about as good as Micheal Jordan at baseball) so carry on, I guess.

    I’ll tell you one thing. The republicans have the politics of personal destruction down cold. Hell democrats rode a criminal president for 6 years and couldn’t touch him. Lying about WMDs, wiretapping, torture, outing CIA agents…nothing. But send a text and picture and you’re run out of town. Shows where our priorities are as a nation.

    Exactly. Nixon just seemed to have gone the extra mile and wasn't too coy about it.

    At least Bush has the general "war on terror" excuse that gives him a ton of leeway in basically anything he does.
