I want Enes Kanter, but realistically we aren't getting that kind of talent this year.

No kidding. Unless a lightbulb goes off in the cat's head, Hill starting at the five is a tank strategy, intentional or otherwise. While he's not alone, it's not about the tools for Hill. It's upstairs, and he's no McGee or Jordan in the tools category. I like Asik, but remain concerned about his health after his late season injury. Any center with any kind of injury history (and this may be very unfair to Asik) freaks me out after The Yao Experience.

I voted for Hayes just probability-wise. But I do feel like moving Chuck back to the bench and getting a real starting center is a priority that management is working on.

That said, unless it's Kanter, I don't see an immediate starter coming from the draft.

DeAndre Jordan or bust. Asik would be nice for the right price, but I'm not even sure he starts over Hayes, at least early in the year.

Agree on the unfair part as well as the concerned part. The good news is that we wouldn't be giving him a max contract that ties down the franchise if he goes out. Outside of established guys that are unattainable like Tyson Chandler or Marc Gasol, I think Asik would make the most immediate imact next year. Definitely more than any rookie center in the draft, no matter how highly rated. If Morey is genuine when he says he wants to improve the defense next year, I really don't see many better options. It also helps that we have been rumored to be after him since the last trade deadline. And Morey is nothing if not persistent.

I'd have to vote "I don't care". It is the biggest Rockets need, and it is the position that we can best upgrade. But I honestly don't give a damn... unless we pull off a trade for Dwight Howard. Or at least Andrew Bogut.

Anyone else provide such marginal benefit/detriment that I just don't really care that much. Next season is going to be short and mostly for development and/or tanking purposes. If the guy we manage to fetch at center turns out decent, I'll be pleasantly surprised. If he sucks, then there's nothing lost anyway.

You can only play in the D league your first 2 years in the NBA. Hasheem isn't eligible to play there anymore.

Hayes moves on to the Bulls or sticks around to mentor Josh Heralson, who following in Chucks footsteps, will be a walk on.

Only time will tell. In all honesty, I don't see him ever being a legit starting center, but I really hope I am wrong. Hopefully the lockout is resolved quickly (possible pipe dream), and he can have a good chunk of summer to work with CD, McHale, and maybe Hakeem and Yao.

My vote is none of the above. I doubt chuck would come back. There's no need for him to. He should sign with a title contending team so he can get his ring.

Riiiight...Chuck should sign with another team to get a ring instead of helping us work on getting one...Kevin Martin should too...Patrick Patterson...Yao Ming...etc...everybody sign with another team so they can get a ring. Lets forget about trying to make our team a championship caliber team.

David Andersen played power forward his whole career in Europe. Daryl Morey is the only basketball exec on the planet that thought he could play center.
