Justice just destroyed the Stros, pretty much called them all idiots on air. The more I search for reasons to defend Wade in certain aspects of the job he's done, it has become almost impossible. Wade came into to fix this crap and it hasn't gotten better, rather worse. System is better but how much of that is Heck and while he's made some nice moves, Hall was Mis-cast badly. All this sounds so familiar, doesn't it?
How long will we hide Lyon on the DL for this time? Anyone think he's actually injured? Wade has got himself in a fix giving out an awful contract and now can't/won't admint he's wrong and cut the guy. He's not a closer!
"That [Lyon] signing is on me. It represents a 'failure in judgement' on my end, just like my other failed signings."
I think the guy is injuried. He might not be closer material but he has been a solid reliever for a while now and was good last year. I think the issue was bringing him back on a partial torn rotator cuff. How do u return for that without surgery to pitch in the big leagues, effectively? Now, I do think the elbow excuse is to cover the fact they brought him back and it's ovbious he isn't healthy.
Seems like Happ's been a better hitter than a pitcher this season. And as I wrote that down, he notched another K. At least that's been working for him tonight...
Looks like the Bruins are about to join the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics as recent champions. Go Astros! Heh...
Happ to me seems like where Wandy was at about 3 years ago. He would have games where he'd be cruising and then hit a wall, lots of high pitch count games in only 5 or 6 innings and got hurt by the big inning. He needs time but Happ has the stuff to be good. CLee may have raised his average to a respectable level but he is paid to hit homers and drive in runs...still not happening so he is still pretty useless just not an embarrassment. If the Pirates sweep this series then it's time for a fire sale, well it's time anyway but this would be the point we'd look back and say the team changed. I have always been a Brad Mills fan and think he is and will be a good manager but I wouldn't be surprised if Crane just completely rebooted the franchise and got rid of the stench that currently exists which sadly includes General Mills.
Well, I was a paying suck.... err, I mean, customer tonight. That ended about a 9 year drought of not going to the park. And it was a surprisingly healthy crowd tonight, about 3/4ths full. Alas, another dreary setback...
Let's bring Kaz Matsui back. I miss his samurai swings at the ball. I'm sure Ed has him on speed dial.
Barmus has played a very good defensive SS and appeared to be getting up to adequate levels on offense but now is just brutal with the stick. His stats are about where Hall's stats where when he was released and while he does play defense, he has been so bad on offense. The only thing that may save him is that there aren't any SS in the minors ready to take over but I'd give the job to Sanchez again or even Downs. Jason Micheals should also be on borrowed time, plenty of backup OFs at AAA, no need to keep the guy around.
Wade can make sure it's healed before signing him to a 3-year, $30 mil contract with a no-trade clause.
A ton of baserunners last night, with only 3 runs to show for it. Although this was a quality start for Happ, he walked way too many batters. He has been very disappointing this season. And of course the bullpen continues to be the worst in baseball.
Wow, to be perfectly honest, never noticed I was messing up his name haha. Well, when Adam Everett is a more productive offensive SS, you don't deserve to have you're name spelled right.
At this point, my interest in following Astros baseball is at an all-time historical low. If it gets any worse than this, then I will be shocked. How much lower can this team go at this point? You know it's bad when Pittsburgh is beating up on us now. We used to beat up on them. It's our turn I guess.
