Very positive play off minutes. Proved very compitent. As a fan base who has Hasheem thabeet and a new coach, we are largely grasping at straws. Coooooome on 8th seed!
Forget Asik and having to give up Budinger I found a trade idea from a guy who is supposedly looking out for the Pacer's best interest that makes me wish he was the GM: Lee, Hill and 23rd pick for Granger, Rush, and the 15th. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/722977-indiana-pacers-five-draft-day-moves-the-pacers-can-make-to-get-better#/articles/722977-indiana-pacers-five-draft-day-moves-the-pacers-can-make-to-get-better/page/2 I know this is from bleacherreport, but I am inserting this as a trade idea that I just wish was a rumor not as an acutal rumor or news or anything of that sort.
Asik is ok,but I would not give up Lee for him. Chase has his limitations, but is better than Asik too.
Just some thoughts.... L.Scola & B.Miller to Clevlanad for B.Davis(bitter pill) & the 4th pick ~ why they do it ~ Clean up their cap and Scola & A.Varejao would really help out a young point gaurd ( Scola is as good as most in this draft ) Three way Trade Houston out - K.Martin / J.Hill / C. Bud / T.Williams / 14th Pick in - M.Beasley / W.Johnson / E.Turner Minnisota out - M.Beasly / W.Jonson / A.Randolph in - K.Martin / J.Hill / C.Bud ~ why they do it ~ They can use their 2nd pick ( K.Martin / K.Love, too...) Pilly out - E.Turner in - T.Williams / A.Randolph / 14th Pick ~ why they do it ~ They get a lot of return when/if one or more of the three pans out - vs - E.Turners "OK" year this year... The Rockets would suck for a year or two ( Just in time for next years draft ).... BUT then look out Give time; time
Asik is a 10/10/2 player given a few years of seasoning, bringing a defensive presence at or above Tyson Chandler's level. Aside from a superstar, that is exactly what this team needs. While I like Lee and think he can start for a contender(he already has), trading small for big with about equal talent is a no brainer. That is probably why Chicago is asking for more on top. Chase Budinger shouldn't even be in the same sentence. I can see Morey going after someone more proven like Asik instead of the centers in the draft who are much bigger risks. And then trading up a few spots for a SF instead. Lowry/Dragic Martin Kwahi Leonard or Jan Vesley/Budinger Scola/Patterson Asik/Hayes While still lacking that superstar to really contend, that is a lineup with a mix of youth/potential/experience that I can definitely get behind. They won't ever be bad enough to land a high pick, and I am not sure how they will land a superstar any other way, but I won't lie it will be fun gunning for homecourt with youngsters like that.
1. Why would Philly take back T-Will? 2. If A. Randolph is involved in this trade, why do the Rockets not take him? 3. Minny's giving up too much for what they get.
1-I think we got T.williams from New Jersey - I may be wrong... 2-A.Randolph is a part of the reason Philly does the deal... he can help their front court... ( Rockets really don't need him - P.Patterson ) 3-Minny Replaces: M.Beasley - 2nd Pick (giving him some playing time, too) or C.Bud ( for spacing) W.Johnson - K.MARTIN & C.Bud A.Randoph - J.Hill K.Love / K. Martin / 2nd Pick Minny is a much better team after this trade ~ funny I was going to give Minny's late 1st rounder to Philly not thinking they gave enough ~
From that thread of that website, I think it was mentioned that Chicago was counteroffering Asik, Korver, #30, Lucas for Lee, Budinger, Hill, future 1st. (Our offer, as posted elsewhere, being: Asik, Korver, #28, #30 for Lee, Hill, and a future first.) Which I wouldn't do. But maybe the two sides are just circling each other, seeing where the other will budge. That insider asked the moderator to close down the thread. I'm paraphrasing, but I think he got nervous when the thread turned into a jillion pages. Suddenly it became very visible.
"I'm not going to throw any of their players under the bus, but one of the main players who was a big part of our team, his attitude was really, really bad -- I'm pretty sure you can figure out who that guy is," he said before confirming that he was speaking of then-rookie forward-center DeMarcus Cousins. "Tyreke [Evans] had a pretty good attitude. His work ethic wasn't great, but he's a good young player. I believed in him completely. I just don't think the coaches did enough to prepare us to win games." Kings don't need more young talent, they need good character/hard working veterans to show kids the way. Scola could be that 4 for Demarcus Cousins. Luis Scola + Brad Miller (dump contract) for #7 pick This trade would allow us to get younger and have a lot more cap space flexibility moving forward (~12 mil/yr).
We may have to add Dragic and our #14 for Beno's contract and Thompson for that to have a chance. Still in our favor though
You do realize that the timberpuppies already have the 2nd pick. They aren't gaining anything replacing a lost asset with another asset they already own the rights to.
Yes, I see your thought, the T-Wolfs have the 2nd pick IF they pick up D.Williams ( maybe an ALL-STAR) he will need playing time and M.Beasley plays at that spot - BUT - M.Beasley alone is not worth K.Martin in a trade.... M.Beasley and W.Johnson are worth more then just K.Martin in a trade.... With that said the T-Wolf's will not miss (should move) M.Beasley - D.Williams will man (replace)the small forward spot for them... and could pick up what they are missing in K.Martin SCORING - C.Bud SCORING - J.Hill 4/5 a backup player for a back-up player in W.Johnson, "non-needed" M.Beasley and a "spare part" in A.Randolph playing behind K.Love will soon be an issue... D.Williams >>> M.Beasley K.Martin>>>>> W.Johnson C.Bud & J.Hill > A.Randolph
The wolves are not going to allow the rockets the heavy handed side of a trade just because they (the wolves) have the 2nd pick already.
