They have no resource to build with. The team signed the Big 3, Joel A., Haslem, and Miller to long-term contracts totaling $60 to 70+ million over the coming years. So, they have no cap room, and the new CBA may not have a mid-level exception. Anthony and Miller have little trade value given the size/length of the contracts and their levels of play. Haslem has some value, but he's needed in the rotation. None of their other guys have much value, either.

At best, they can add an MLE player and some cheap ring chaser in free agency, and probably make trades only for players with stinky contracts.

I dont see what we could give them for Bosh besides Scola. The same type of player in my mind. Maybe Scola and a draft pick? Scola and Budinger? Thats three point depth and PF same as Bosh back. I just dont know that Bosh is worth it anymore except for the fact he is young.

The Rox are stuck in neutral and something must be done, because Yao is all but cooked, the draft most likely won't supply us with any immediate help and we can get that #1 option (yes, Bosh is still a #1 guy) that we have coveted and sorely need.

Losing Lowry wouldn't kill me. I think he is a good PG and he has made many positive strides since he has been with the Rox, but IMO, I still see him more suited as a back-up and if we have to lose him along with Patterson and Scola in order to get Bosh, I'd do it.....

You can't go over the cap unless you sign your own players, sign guys to the minimum, or get a MLE guy, and there may be no MLE next CBA.

I can't sign off on Lowry/Patterson/Scola for Bosh. It's a trade that might work, and I guess that's what Miami would ask for him, but I could only give up two out of three for Bosh, not all three. And I would still not be super happy if Lowry leaves.

I'd be pissed if we did something that dumb.

As it stands, Miami could possibly find their hand forced and have to firesale or amnesty clause Bosh to keep Wade/LeBron together under a hard cap environment.

LA, Orl, Dal, and Mia could be in for a very uncomfortable offseason if a hard cap comes, even at $66M (vs the owners $45M initial proposal).

As it is, Miami only has 6 rotation guys signed for next year. They will have a tough enough time holding on to Chalmers if the cap exceptions disappear.

Quick question, let's say there's a hard cap, could Lebron, Wade, and Bosh restrcuture their contract for less money so they can fill the roster? If these guys are really legit about winning, and they haven't blown all their money, they should have no probelm with a little less dough.

I would trade Scola, Patterson & Budinger for Bosh. I wouldn't give up Scola and Lowry and Patterson/Budinger.

We need a top tier player that Bosh has shown he can be to start to re-build around.

If Yao is healthy (super doubtful) then a Yao/Bosh/Martin/Budinger or Patterson/Lowry is a pretty good starting 5 and we've got some other pieces and a reasonable draft selection.

i would never take significantly less money to help an organization, so i would not expect others to do the same.

That's still expensive, though that might be what it would take. I'd trust Morey if he did that. I'm not sure if I'd pull the trigger on it. Maybe.

They already are taking less money to help the organization, so that point is moot.
