You do realize that the whole "end of the world" thing is on Dec. 20-something 2012? The NBA finals for 2012 would be played in the summer prior. Lol.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...heat-nba-championship-s061321,0,1859249.story Heat are No. 1! (In NBA 2012 championship odds) Ira Winderman South Florida Sun Sentinel 12:09 p.m. EDT, June 13, 2011 MIAMI— The pressure never is actually off for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. A mere 13 hours after falling in the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks, the Miami Heat have been installed as 2012 NBA championship favorites by online sports book Bodog.com. The website Monday posted the Heat as 5-to-2 2012 championship favorites, with the Los Angeles Lakers second at more than twice the price, at 11-to-2. The Mavericks are listed as 10-to-1 to repeat, the No. 5 overall choice, behind the Heat, Lakers, Chicago Bulls (6-to-1) and Oklahoma City Thunder (8-to-1). Next on the board are a pair of perennial contenders, the Boston Celtics at 12-to-1 and the San Antonio Spurs at 20-to-1. The site lists seven teams at 100-to-1 (Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers), with the Toronto Raptors the longshot at 150-to-1.
Assuming the Kelts plug that hole, I'd take their number. When you look at them, they have all the pieces. Defensive plug up the middle, solid shooter, reliant scorer, shot creator. They need more lockdown perimeter defenders and of course quality big men. Who doesn't?
They will not get past Chicago or Heat next year, a year older and both the Heat and Chicago will get a lot better.
Heat Lakers, Dallas, Celtics and Spurs are getting really old. Kidd, Terry, Dirk, Kobe, Allen, Pierce, KG, Duncan all older than the Superfriends. Bulls and OKC not there yet though they have the talent. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh still relatively young. This was the first year of this experiment and their only real help Miller and Haslem missed basically the whole season. Now add a MLE like Dalembert, a first round pick and a couple more hangers on and you could see the dynasty begin.
Gonna wait til the offseason (and lockout can make it a long offseason). Who will hire RA? What will the Knicks do to add to their great core? What will the Lakers do? Nets with Deron? Heat? Defending Champs? Where will Dwight, CP3, possibly Deron go now that they are expiring (or what will their teams add around them)? We literally just finished one season, I voted other but I am going to give it a long wait before actually making a prediction.
Seriously starting to think you are a highly disguised Dallas Maverick fan. West is impossible to pick and it really depends if the Bulls make a move for a 2. Rip, Courtney Lee, ect. might be able to push them over the top. If the Rockets trade for Al Jefferson or hell even Bosh they could be next years Memphis and surprise some people. My pick. Memphis vs. Miami.
Heat probably manages to get one next year, because Lebron has no other female relatives to be banged.
that's a joke right? Miami's payroll is about 65m, the lakers payroll is nearly 100m. If there's a hard cap, the lakers need to sell the farm
All contracts signed during the previous CBA will be valid until they expire. So no, the mavs and lakers wouldn't need to get rid of anything, they just couldn't add anything either.
The contracts being valid doesn't mean the lakers can keep those contracts. If they bring in a hard cap, it will likely start at a value based on the current contract totals so that every player can still have their contract honoured, and considering teams paying a tax for titles is one of the biggest issues. I'd be surprised if the 80% of teams in the lower area are willing to say ok we accept the 20% can keep their 100m payroll while we can't go past say 65m, rather than saying tough luck, trade your players and play on even terms.
lol i wasnt talking the end of the world, i was talking the season I'm not really sure what to say about people who believe in this end of the world tinfoil hat nonsense.
No, they would be able to keep the contracts, they would be "grandfathered" into the system, that was the case with past CBAs, no contracts were reworked from previous CBAs. If they actually proposed for previous contracts to be "reworked", the lockout will last a lot longer than the NFL one, you can trust me on that. They(the owners) signed those contracts ultimately, they can't just tell them they aren't entitled to that money anymore, it was their fault for giving it to them in the first place. I don't care if you're Eddy Curry, Elton Brand, whatever, you're paid until that contract is over.
Do you honestly think the Rockets have a better chance than any of the teams listed? I'd love to hear your reasons for thinking such.
like i give a **** what u think LOLOLOL im a dirk fan hope he wins more championships if u want to be delusional and think the rockets will win a championship next year be my guest
