If they are going to ask for Lowry and Martin, they should get back Beasley as well as the #2 pick. Hopefully keeping the the 14th pick. As far as our starting PG, if we don't get one back in the trade, Dragic is more than capable of starting for us. He showed that towards the end of the season. Then we could use whatever picks we have left to pick up another PG like Darius Morris to back up Dragic.

Lowry is being severely undervalued here, I wouldn't trade him for #2.

You can't just look at where he is now, you have to consider his level of improvement every season.

i would trade anything for the number 2 because i want to suck bad next year and get a great pick. hopefully one of the two works out.

and you can throw in a amare and carmelo season ending injuries and pull out the top 2 picks.

As much as I like Martin, if parting with him meant getting the #2, I'd have to do it. Courtney Lee is definitely a starting SG caliber player.

The real question is what would Morey do with it. Williams or Kanter?

I wish he would, once in a while. Or, maybe he'll overpay when we're really one piece away.

If I were drowning, I'd be willing to pay $1000 for a $5 rope.

I could live with Dragic as the starting PG, but I wouldn't want the second-string PG to be less than him.

Every occassion it the same. We always hear how aggressive Morey is when it comes to maing deals. But nothing happens. Its the same every time. We never move up in the draft and we never manage to get available stars.

Besides the TMAC deal, it has consistently been little tweaks here and there. I am expecting the same this time.

Morey gets too much credit for working the phones. WOW! Big deal. Its like no other GM in the NBA makes any phone calls or looks to acquire quality players.

    I could see a Flynn+2nd for Lowry+Martin+14th,

I'm sure Morey is asking for the 2nd and KHAAAAN! is answering with:

"How about Flynn+2nd rounder for Martin?"

Still, if he is not able to move up, we have good positions to get a decent big, a defensive SF and maybe another point. I like our chances in this draft.

Does anyone who's suggesting trading Martin for the #2 pick actually study the game? The Mavericks, one of the oldest teams in the NBA beat the most athletically talented team in the NBA because they were extremely efficient scorers, as well as having a defensive genius running things in Casey. We definitely have one of the most efficient scorers on offense, and it's no secret we didn't have anyone remotely resembling Casey on defense. The latter is about to change, now's not the time to lose Martin for the same pick Thabeet was chosen with in a stronger draft. That's insane.

It just really bothers me when people devalue a guy to the point other people start believing it's true.

Seriously, the #2 pick in a weak draft is worth more than Kevin Martin, a top ten scorer in the league?

At best that's an even trade.
