More attention to what? Football? I kind of doubt it.

    Football is America's passion.

Honestly, in the long run... it won't matter.

But in the short term it would be some ugly publicity.

    I don't get it.

Who in the hell would get angry (angrier?) with the NFL for not playing football specifically because it's the 10th anniversary of 9-11?

How does that tragedy have anything to do with the NFL? Are they obligated to give us something to watch so we don't have to sit around and be bummed all day thinking about it?

If this happens there will be a lot of tiebreakers going on.

I'm just saying... not having flags flying and football in New York on the 10 year anniversary isn't going to sit well with some people when put in perspective (greed vs tragedy).

Obviously cynical people like us can look at it with an open mind and understand the nature of the beast, but this is American sentiment we're talking about. Nothing is more irrational.

    Who knows.

I'd like to see him in Philly.

I've heard Pittsburgh and Baltimore won't pursue him, so it'll probably come down to Dallas/Washington. We know Snyder will throw ridiculous money at anything that sniffs a pro bowl, so it'll come down to whether or not he really wants to leave.

He's already released from the Raiders, no?

So, seems like the "wants to leave" part is already settled.

It'll come down to whether or not he wants to come back to Oakland, and I've yet to see anything that says he's interested in going back there.

I can't see him going to such a woeful franchise as the Redskins with a turd owner like Snyder... I can see the Cowboys chasing him hard... seems like the Patriots and Falcons would be targets for him as well.

There was some pub right after he was released saying that there was a chance he would re-sign at a more reasonable deal with Oakland, IIRC. I don't think he necessarily wants to leave, but the money may be too good to pass up.

I think they should use replacement players. Terrelle Pryor, come on down.

He just keeps everything tight-lipped. He's said a few times returning to Oakland is a distinct possibility. Whether or not that is just lip service is debatable.

I just doubt he'll be back because the Raiders have already gone ahead with extending other guys, Stanford Routt suddenly thinks he's Deion Sanders, and they drafted 2 CBs in the first 4 rounds.

@AdamSchefter: Lockout is legal, 8th circuit ruled.
