Wow both videos of BB and DM were painful. On the plus side for BB, however, it looks like he has pretty solid hands just from the way he was dribbling and catching the ball. And, even as he was bricking shot after shot, you could see his raw athleticism oozing off the vid. He would be an amazing compliment to a scoring power forward/center in a solid 3-man big man rotation. DM on the other hand...jeez. Shoot a couple jumpers before the workout, bro.
Shooting a couple of jumpers WAS the workout. The guy, frankly, looked bored-- like his mind was 1000 miles away, like he just saw Delonte West banging his mom.
lol LOL nice one Carl! Ya I'm concerned about Bisquick and the other guy...raw only goes so far. Don't want another Thabeet on the team.
It'd be nice to be able to see workouts from established players for comparison purposes. Very awkward to watch draftees taking infinite jumpers. Seems like a lot of pressure surrounded by scouts and GMs sporting their best pokerface trying to look disinterested to drive down the players' value. I want to see Thabeet working out. That would be fun. I literally have no idea what we have with that guy. He's just a name that I know and say with my friends.
<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kDdVQN7xEuI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Thabeet is a workout warrior. His skill level is not that bad, it is his motor that makes me worry, because he has all the tools.
He really should have played in the game. He would looked 10x better. Besides, he is not known for his offense, only his defense.
He should just work on finishing strong when near the rim. I imagine he will be able to run the floor and keep up with his guards. So he will get a lot of chances from 2-3 feet away from the rim either from offensive boards or fast breaks. Plus a few tip ins here and there. So he can average 5 PPG if he can manage to play 30 MPG or so without any shooting skills (THEORETICALLY). If he can take work on his FT shooting and add a sky hook then he should be OK. This might take 3-4 years or so.
So he is Joey Dorsey + 2-3"? (That didn't come out right :grin <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5RTi77n9XaI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Even if he is, I think with the quality of this draft, you at least have to look hard at him if he's there at 14.
Well, TBQH based on the vids alone - Hasheem >>>>>>>>Biyombo. Its not even close - hasheem can at least make shots, biyombo airballed a 6 footer.
Joey Dorkey If Hasheem doesn't get back here soon and work on his game in Houston with our guys, he's not going to ever amount to anything. I'm waiting to hear that he's back and in the gym.
The workout hopefully increases the odds of Biyombo dropping to 14 for the Rockets. A refined offensive and defensive juggernaut without medical issues does not drop to the 14th spot in a weak or strong draft.
Very nice found and nicely written.. Like the one from ESPN about Enes Kanter I have to spread reputation to rep you again
Good article, but again, that workout is being very overrated. His offensive production in the ACB has been almost the same than Ibaka's, and he's not being compared with Ben Wallace. He did a bad workout, pressure overcame him, but it would be much better to watch his games at the ACB. 5on5. Hey, even at the Nike game he was being double teamed, there must be a reason for it.
Biyombo can D, can block shots, can rebound. His offense consists of the dunk. That is obvious in games as well.
He seems mature, driven, intelligent, and passionate about his work. Wherever Bismack goes, I'll be rooting for him.
