finally found time to watch this weeks episode....

my favorite is totally going to be in the finals of this thing... Dia! :)

    She was awesome.

I'm wishing I used iTunes so I could download her performance... I liked that song before now I love it even more.

Dia has actually is a professional artist. Just search for Meganddia, i'm guessing she's using the voice to get more exposure and it looks like it has worked.

Many of the contestants are or were professional artist. Meg and Dia were dropped from their label a while back, so they aren't signed artists. She talks about it in the "V correspondent" interviews. Apparently Jared Blake is in a similar situation. I believe the rule is you cannot be currently signed to a label.

But yea, Dia is unbelievable. I'll be rooting for her for sure.

It's a Dolly Parton song. It was a fairly faithful rendition and she did it very well. I was impressed with her in the battle rounds too.

Definitely think Vicci Martinez is Cee Lo's best. Javier Colon is Adam's best, and Jeff Jenkins is an interesting singer. Just not sure about his genre, yet.

In other news, Christina looks better without the prostitute clown makeup on.

Yea, her makeup last week was all wacked up and Cee-Lo going without the glasses was jarring to say the least.

Old Dolly Parton records are extremely eclectic. They are nothing like her Disco years that everyone remembers so well. 9 to 5 and all of that stuff.

She almost has a Cher "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" sensibility, which makes a lot of those songs relevant today.

That's why he picked her. He said she's the one he can change/mold. I guess he felt the others had peaked.

My complaint is that Xenia isn't up for this type of competition. She's too raw, shy, timid, etc. She doesn't have the chops for this competition. Give her 2 years and she'll be able to legitimately compete, but saving her now is setting her up for failure because she'll never win.

OK, so what's the point of having "teams"? We hear the coaches talk about how strong their "teams" are but what's the point? When you think of "teams" you think about them competing against other teams. But there is absolutely no competition between teams on this show. None. It's all between singers on the SAME team.

I would rather have seen Adam's team take on Cee-Lo's in a head to head matchup. But all we're going to get in the end is Adam's best singer vs Cee-Lo's best singer vs Christina and Blake's best singers. They introduce the concept of "teams" but follow it up with 7 weeks of whittling the teams down to 1 singer each and then have them compete against each others as individuals. I still like the show but I'm disappointed by that.

As a singer, you'd initially think that you'd want to be part of a strong team. But really, you stand a much better chance of making it to the finals if you're a big fish on a weak team.

I think the 2 from each team are going to battle other teams? I hope that's what happens.

You have to feel for Jeff, he is an AMAZING talent yet team Adam is all about Javier. I don't think I have ever been captivated by any singer on these type of shows like I am with Javier.
