Night Of The Living Dead, in my opinion, is the best.
    Opening post FAIL.

I liked 28 weeks later more than days, but both were good
Zombieland and shawn of the dead are great too.

The walking dead on AMC probably better than any zombie movie i've seen

1990 Night of the Living Dead remake with Tony Todd directed by Tom Savini was the one I watched constantly growing up.

Shaun of the Dead and Walking Dead have definitely taken zombies mainstream, that's for sure.

The whole premise for 28 Weeks Later and how the outbreak reoccurred was completely idiotic. Just about ruined the movie for me.

28 Days was excellent in its simplicity.
Shaun of the Dead was awesome.

I also liked I Am Legend. Yeah the ending could have used work (I think if you merged the theatrical and alternate it would have been nice) but I do like the atmosphere the film created; a NYC that was a ghost town. Very eery.

World War Z would blow 'em all away if it ever became a film or mini-series, and if it was done right. The last I heard the powers that be wanted a PG-13 rating, and I think that about killed the project.

    Haven't seen the Romero classics.

I'm reading a book of zombie short stories. And the first one was about how zombies find living flesh by detecting their brain signals. So the only way to stay alive is to get high, so as to alter your brain pattern. Now that's an interesting concept.

Jesus you people are embarrassing. Zombie movies were made long before 2002.

My vote goes to the original Dawn of the Dead. Excellent mix of suspense and campiness.

To this day nobody does it better than Romero.

They could do a whole thing on the samurai alone. And it'd be awesome. Never really understood the origin of the outbreak. Fishing I think?

Another vote for 28 Days Later. I still think it's Danny Boyle's best movie. (Yes over Slumdog Millionaire).
