We're working out this guy tomorrow. He's apparently a 22 year old SG/SF who plays overseas. Has anyone seen him play and/or can give us an idea of what he would bring to the Rockets?
All I know is that he's 6'6" and he played for the Regal FC Barcelona team with Ricky Rubio. I watched some of his highlight reels that are on YouTube, but that can only give you so much when looking at a player. Maybe Morey sees potential in this guy, and could draft him in the 2nd round to develop behind K-Mart and Lee.
Rabaseda is a rights property of Barcelona, not one of their current players. This season he played on the same team that Biyombo was on, not the one Rubio played on.
Was he any good? Did he start, or come off the bench, and do you see a comparison to any current or former NBA players? Thanks in advance.
Think about Delfino, about Belinelli, and Rabaseda's profile is there between them. He has Delfino's body, legs, and can shoot off the screens like Belli or even Chase (not that accurate right now but has the potential). He has some similarities with Chase too, can shoot it, can dunk it... Still too soon to talk about his NBA potential, he needs more ACB years, but he's an interesting 2nd round pick. If you are willing to wait 3 years, if not 4.
He has two articles on draftex written a year apart from each other (09&10). From what I read, he seems to have improved a whole lot during that one year span but they seem to say he is an "on the cusp" type player. Not quite ready for the NBA because his Euro game is now just picking up I be he nost likely stays in Europe, gets offered a big contract, and never wears an NBA uniform. Looking at the highlight videos he looks like a player who plays much shorter than he is, like Sasha Vujacic but not as short. He's a SG all the way. BTW, is that Robert Dozier in the picture? http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Xavi-Rabaseda-5876/
No. It's backup power forward and role player on Barca, Terence Morris. Who was a former rotation player on the Houston Rockets.
Asked where would you like to play, if you could choose, Rabaseda says he liked 3 places, Oklahoma, Houston and Chicago. He says that the Rockets treated him very well. Link in spanish: http://www.marca.com/2011/06/22/baloncesto/nba/1308720371.html
