No other league in the world can match the talent level of the NBA. They are world champions, no doubt.
It's ironic because for years the NBA Dish has been having this argument (which I also believe is silly) about whether an NBA team should be allowed to call themselves World Champions. I think Nowitzki finally put this argument to rest. Who's going to argue with him?

There's only like one team in NBA history that lost to a foreign team in an NBA preseason exhibition game to the Panthanikos or something like that. Obviously, they aren't going to be World Champions. And it was one of the better teams in Europe.
Kenny smith said that it was the world championship because the best players in the world are selected to come to the NBA to compete. Charles argued that it is just because the NBA is the best league in the world.
The biggest reason our Olympic teams have had so much trouble lately (before China) was because they just didn't have the chemistry to compete with the other national teams. But a team like the Mavericks, that have played with each other for years, I don't think they would have a problem with a national team from another country. The games might be closer than if it was our own national team playing. But I think they'd still win.
Nba champions are just that, nba champions. To be world champion u should beat teams around the world, wich of course never happens. Poppovich made sas change all their championship gear to just Nba champion and not world champion, is just too arrogant and he is right.
I agree, unless something ridiculous happens, the NBA champions could beat any team in the world. But if they haven't held any kind of global competition, can they call themselves that? I could surely get a college degree in Economics if I set my mind to it, do I get to call myself an economist...?
