Cuban might be ahole and outspoken crazy.
But he is maturing kept his mouth shut whole playoffs and now this, every city needs owner like him.

MIAMI -- Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said championship parades and title rings just aren't his style, but the 2010-11 NBA champions will be riding floats through the streets of Dallas very soon.

And Cuban said he's picking up the tab.

"We'll do it," Cuban said early Monday morning. "All I told them was -- Terdema Ussery, our president -- you plan the parade. I'll pay for it because I don't think it's right for the city to have to pay for it. And let's just have some fun."

Any talk of a parade prior to the Mavs' 105-95 Game 6 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday night was considered taboo.

Five years ago, after Dallas took a 2-0 lead in the Finals over the Heat and were bound for South Beach, parade plans were revealed and it became the first embarrassing mishap in an epic meltdown that has finally come to an end.

City officials still haven't set a date.

One area where Cuban hinted he might break with tradition is presenting championship rings to his players.

"I might not get rings," the Mavs' billionaire owner told NBATV. "Rings are old school. You've seen it before: There's guys who pick up the sweats and towels and they have these big, blingy rings. I'm like, 'Rings are done. It's time to take it to the next level.'"

What does he have up his sleeve? Cuban refused to reveal what he was thinking.

Tbh, you have to appreciate the guy's fanhood, its more than just a business to him.

While I do think Rockets fans are overpraising Cuban due to this championship, I must say this is an amazing gesture.

Personal feelings as a result of the Mavs-Rockets series aside, I do respect Cuban as a human being. I even have no problem with his douchebaggery on the sidelines, because if I owned a NBA team, I'd probably be just as big a douche. More private douche, but still a douche.

he's a douche when he's being a pissy about his team losing and making up excuses. Thats his biggest problem. He'll come out and say crap which everyone finds annoying but it does show he defends his team.

I do that with the Rockets and I don't even own the team. Look, he suffers from all the problems a fan suffers. So I've never really faulted him for that. My biggest peeve with him was trying to get officials to call fouls on Yao for something no player ever gets called on. But that's speaking as a Rockets fan.

Les Alexander would never pay for a parade. I hope he dies.

it sucks that we got such a cheapskate owner that is always making moves or firing coaches to stay under the luxury tax.... I would take a owner who is passionate about their team over a owner who treats the team like a business investment

I trade you 10 Les Alexander for 1 Mark Cuban, especially the way the former has treated our coaches. I used to think Cuban was the biggest douche, but he ain't that bad.

Yeah, we did have a big problem with Cuban on that issue back in 2005. However, for the most part, he stayed in the sidelines during these playoffs, so perhaps he is maturing as an owner.

Did you really just ask if that trophy is pure gold?

Do you have any idea how much it would be worth if that was the case?

    It's gold plated.

Yawn. You really need to stop licking Cuban's boots. The finals are over, the Mavs won let it go. Our team is a long way away we've fired Adelman & JVG and are now depending on Kevin Mchale to turn us around. To quote Cuban, "Who the f*@k cares about Mark Cuban & the Dallas Mavericks.

Morey's stats would show a parade isn't necessary. Screw Morey.
