I agree but he is not worth a max deal. Bosh cannot take over ball games and create his own shots.

Yeah, Morey will come back with the iPad 2, which will blow his socks off and Morey will become the Pied Piper

    Guys.
There's both sides of the equation. Why would Miami want to trade Bosh for anyone on our team when our pieces don't mesh with theirs?
Their biggest needs are a good center and offensive sparkplug off the bench.
    We have neither.
Haslem is a championship caliber PF. He can hit open shots and is a tough glue type of player. Chalmers proved that he is good enough to be their PG of the future. Scola and Lowry are clear upgrades at both but do not address their biggest weaknesses.

If I were the Heat, I would offer Bosh and J. Anthony for Bogut and Salmons.

    Bogut
    Haslem
    Lebron
    Wade
    Chalmers

    Salmons as 6th man.

That would be a historically great defensive team with a Terry/Stackhouse-like threat from the bench.

I got carried away a bit, but yeah, Miami will not trade Bosh to Houston so all of the speculation on whether we want him or not is unnecessary.

We were getting played. Bosh wanted Miami all along. He never was serious about Houston.

I'd give them Scola and Thabeet.

    Beyond that it's questionable.

Yeah, I just wanted everyone to see how ridiculous that contract is. You're paying for a top 5-10 player which he isn't.

Patterson is our future Bosh. I think he has shown signs of that potential. I don't know if he will ever be the offensive player Bosh is. But he is already at least as good a defender as Bosh.

Lowry and Patterson are the most promising players we have right now. I'd hold on to them unless they are required in a trade for a true franchise player. Bosh is not the kind of guy who can carry a team. I wouldn't trade our future for him just to make us a little more competitive next year.

Pretty sure Chalmers is a free agent next year, and with the new CBA coming, there's no guarantee that they will be able to resign him. Odds are they will not be able to. Chalmers will definitely be getting more than his current $800,000 salary.

They really need a PG, but that Milwaukee trade you described would be pretty good for the Heat (assuming Milwaukee would accept).

I don't want a pouty Bosh on this team (you know he'd be upset getting traded from a title contender to a rebuilding team).

Bosh's contract and a possibly lower cap would keep the Rockets irrelevant until after 2016.

    Bosh > Scola
    Bosh + Contract = Scola + Contract

Simple as that to me. No way in hell we should give up patterson AND lowry in a deal for someone who isn't leaps and bounds better than what we have. Scola, Lowry and Patterson is just way too much to give up for an expensive upgrade, that really is only a minor upgrade at best.

Look at it this way. The heat probably only do this to cut salary and allocate it to their other positions of need. If they are happy with what bosh gave them @ 15 million or whatever he is making, they will be more than happy with what scola can give them @ 8 million or whatever he is making.

The huge salary reduction with only a minor cut in on court production is a very valuable part of this deal. Scola is capable of hitting those same jump shots as bosh and scola has a much more crafty post game. Bosh wins in age, athleticism and "star power", but lets be real, bosh is far from the star we are really seeking.

Just don't see the point in hampering ourselves financially when we currently have a cheaper and almost statistically identical player in scola, as well as Patterson who appears to be ready for a more expanded role and is still on his rookie deal.

Yet the name you chose to represent you as an individual, to people you have never met on a forum, is the name of two other men. If we really wanted to, we could all read pretty far into a guy who would do that.

on this bbs anything is possible. I'm with you at this point I would much rather have scola than bosh. Even with a bit of unknown about scolas knee, I still want scola for his heart alone. Bosh honestly looks liked he took some acid and is in wally world right now. Bosh showed me enough in this series to confirm I dont want anything to do with that guy ever.
