I don't really see any good reason to just purge a player when the value is at its lowest.

You can "move on" with the player still on your team.

Rockets just need to move on. It pains me to say it but Yao just can't do it, his body has betrayed him. A shame to see such a talented big guy. Anyways, the beginning of the end was 2007 playoffs when he got dominated by Boozer. After that it was slowly downhill.

If Yao wants to come back, then bring him back. He'll ba a backup at best at a position where he have practically nothing of value. If he wants to chase a ring
somewhere else let him go but if he wants to roll the dice with us one last time, then why not do it?

Yao coming back at a smaller contract for 2 years would be fine I doubt he would average more than 10-15 minutes a game but the work ethic and professionalism he would bring would be great for the young guys on the team to see and hopefully rub off on

I could understand not re-signing Yao if he were hindering the development of a center prospect, but we currently have nothing there. I'd love to sign him to a cheap contract, even if his role is just spot minutes as a backup. We spent three years waiting for Sura to recover, but we're not going to wait for Yao?

Blunt and to the point, well said.

I wish Yao the best, but any NBA comeback he pursues should be with another team. The Lakers would be a good place for him. They can sit him on the bench and save him for their last run at a title.

Apparently some Rockets fans want to see Yao hauled out of a game on a stretcher. The Rockets must do what is best for the team, for Yao and more importantly the sanity of most Rockets fans...give him the boot already.

    Les is not Cuban.

It is a concern for Morey if Les already set the team salary upper limit .

Yeah that would be super awesome after he screwed us royally for basically half his tenure here.

Bill Walton's health record makes Yao Ming look like Karl Malone.

This is a question of practicality. If Yao is so concerned about coming back why is he in China and not here doing his best to rehabilitate his ankle and foot?
