I've thought about it, and I think this movie does fit with the jacked-up continuity that is the X movies. Not a reboot.
It was a great movie. Is there confirmation that there will be sequals? I cringed when i saw Spoiler magneto at the end in the classic uniform It was so cheesy and would not fit in live action in the sequals.
This is set to be a trilogy, thought the movie was awesome, saw it yesterday before the game. Probably the best of the X-Men movies.
I liked the first one alot, but maybe that's because it was just the first. Either way, this one is way better than the rest.
taking this movie on it's own without the other X-men movies and comics, it was a awesome flick. Really enjoyed it. I was a little curious about this at the end though Spoiler when magneto takes out shaw with the coin, i'm assuming Shaw wasnt able to absorb it because Prof X had him "frozen"
Spoiler He absorbs kinetic energy. I assumed it didn't effect him because it was slow, hence little or no kinetic energy going into it.
Spoiler yeah, i considered that as well but was still thought that since there was some kinetic energy that there was still some (albeit a little) to absorb. I would have like to see Him in the second...mostly because i love kevin bacon... Spoiler
Spoiler I don't know if he absorbed any of the kinetic energy or not, but the coin itself was pushed through magnetically and would have sliced his brain. He could absorb the energy all he wanted, but his brain was still sliced. Maybe had he not been mentally shut down he could have concentrated and prevented the attack, but alas, he was shut down and got his brain split apart.
On continuity with the existing trilogy: Spoiler I think I remember Prof X said that he helped Magneto create that helmet which blocks X from entering his Eric's head when they were younger. However in this First Class the Russians built it for Shaw. No real biggie, just a thought.
Spoiler Shaw was shot full of bullets and they didn't bother him. I don't think using magnetism to push a coin uses any kinetic force. Of course, I'm no physicist. But I know one...I'll ask him!
saw the movie over the weekend and enjoyed it very much was the best of the xmen movies but still not as good as the first iron man, spiderman 2, nolan's batmans of course very entertaining though
No, not the last two words you said. Just "had a hole through it." What you said would be if we could see both parts (that's what SHE said). We didn't.
Spiderman 2? I thought all of those Spiderman movies were horrible. Agree with Dark Knight and Iron Man though.
1 was good but was seen as a bit sow since there was a lot of set up. 2 was exceptional. The only one that could even be remotely considered "horrible" was the 3rd.
I liked Spiderman 2, but First Class was better as was X2. Iron Man has an argument, but I still prefer X2 or this one over it. Dark Knight is tops though.
My only complaint with Iron Man 1 is the lack of action - if I recall correctly, there were only two real action sequences.
While they weren't drag out scenes, Tony's capture and escape were action scenes I thought. On top on that the scene in the Middle East felt like two separate scenes with one being vs the militia and the other vs the fighter jets. Either way, I felt like it had a really good pace. Easily in my top five comic movies. I'd probably have to go.... 1) Dark Knight 2) X2 3) X-Men First Class 4) Iron Man 5) Batman (Keaton) Honorable Mention to Spiderman 2 and Superman (Reeves).
