Great show! It's more of a medieval drama where everyone is making a power grab. There is magic, but it's few and far between. Good action, blood and sex.

No elves, dwarfs or other type of fairies running around.

Joffrey is such a turd ... it appeared even his mother was taken aback by that deception.

The guy playing Walder Frey was perfect, but the girl playing Shae was horrible. All of her lines seemed unnatural.

Remind me who were those characters? I'm not good with names.

Walder Frey was the grumpy lord of the Twins who bargained conditions with Lady Stark. Shae was the w**** drinking with Tyrion and Bronn.

Walder Frey: The old man who Robb needed to get permission from to cross the river.

    Shae: Tyrion's w****.

Apparently on TV if you don't say it first then no one believes you

Just like Jon was struggling to make a decision between honor and family, Ned had the same decision. We've always known Ned to be a man of honor, but in this case he chose family. Maybe seeing Arya had something to do with it. So he lied and was rewarded by having his head chopped off.

The crowd was already against him. I doubt they really knew the details behind his side of the story. I'm sure the public was only aware of what Cersei wanted them to know. Even if Ned had stated the truth, it's doubtful the crowd would've believed him. Their viewpoint had already been shaped and weren't likely to be convinced by the words of a man they'd already deemed guilty.

He wasn't the only one who knew the truth, even if the crowd didn't believe him it would have given validity to the war. They only know where one daughter is and she's pretty much safe at this point.

Yes, but it sets the rest of the series in motion.

The kids all have to find their own way now.

Season 2 introduces new characters, and I'm sure HBO will sign another big name to give the show cred.

Thats is exactly how i felt when I read the books. This is one of the bigest strong points of the books, you never know who is going to survive.

I like the way the EW review that Commodore posted put it. He was never really the main character, they just made you think he was.
