    Dirk Nowitzki...

    This comment illuminates Dirk's greatness.

1 ring for Dirk in Dallas>10 for Lebron in Miami...

Nothing greater than seeing a true champion lift his city to such heights.

    Hakeem comes to mind...

Dirk stated that he would have "strongly considered" signing with the Heat if Lebron and Wade asked.

    Just sayin..

I respect him for that at least. He stayed with one team throughout his entire career.

Imagine a team of LeBron, Wade, and Dirk.
Now THAT would just not be fair.

    Who wouldn't go?

"Hey, two of the top five players in the game respect me enough to ask me to come to their team, and play for a ring."

I think that, even if you wanted to, you couldn't root against that team.

Gotta admit, if I was Lebron and Wade I'd be wondering why did we choose RuPaul when we could have had Dirk?

Why wouldn't Dirk want to stay loyal to the Mavs? Look at who his owner is. Look at some of the teammates that his owner has gotten him over the years? James 2nd best player in Cleveland was Mo Williams!!! Dirk has played with Nash, Jet, Kidd, Marion, Finley, Walker, Harris, etc.

And with all that being said, even he said he may have considered Miami of they asked him.

The right way... $90 Million worth of the right way!

Everyone talking about Lebron, Wade, Bosh..

But Dirk, Kidd, Terry, Chandler, Marion, Peja, Butler (injured), Haywood, Barea is pretty deep (and expensive) in itself.

In a free market, the Miami roster would be $90+ mil, because Lebron and Wade would've both commanded $30-35 mil/yr. While Bosh likely would've gotten $15-20 mil.

Dallas, OTOH, would have a cheaper roster. Because the reason they can get these players is because they're overpaid. So their salary does not come close to their production. If you just want to compare salaries, even the Rockets salary this year was higher than Miami's. And Yao makes more than Lebron. So it's a horrible comparison.

Comparatively speaking, Cuban's "cheating" through stacking his team with overpaid but good players doesn't come close to superfriends banding together. Of course, the latter had the help of the CBA, which without it they'd have taken bigger paychecks instead.

Seriously? You put Antoine Walker in that mix???
First off Dirk played with Nash and Finley but that was under a coach that WAS NEVER going to get to an NBA finals as a HC.
He played with Kidd and Marion just in the past couple of years. In between that was a cast of clowns including guys like Antoine Rigadeau, Shawn Bradley, Keith Van Horn, and many many more. His owner did what he could to get Dirk the parts around him and the coach to do the business.
I doubt Dan Gilbert would have gone all Glen Taylor on LeBron and not try to keep working on getting the right pieces around LeBron. Bron couldn't wait for it and c'est la vie. That's how things go sometimes.
