Just like most picked Sixers, Cletics and Bulls to win against the Heat, guess it was a bad sign.

Conspiracy Theory Alert: What if Stern wanted Dallas and Cuban to win so Donaghy's prediction that the Heat would win would be squashed.

Nah I think when the Spurs won in NY, they did it in the Garden. I THINK.

We talk about Cuban being a loud mouth. But come on. Having the original owner there to talk the trophy first is truly classy.

I used to hate Cuban and his brashness. Over the years, he has gotten better at picking his spots.

Now, I still hate the average joe Dallas Mav's fan.

Congrats to Dallas, they were the better team. Lebron showed that when the pressure is on, he lays back and gives up. Maybe in 5 years he'll mature a bit and realize what a d-bag he's been for taking these chances for granted...or maybe he just won't give a eff with hundreds of millions of dollars to keep him comfy. Either way, this series shows how talent doesn't beat desire. Dirk/Terry had it, Lebron didn't. Enjoy it Dallas.

Seriously Pull_Up_3 has to be one of the worst posters on this board adding nothing of substance.

I'm happy for Dirk. He's definitely become stronger mentally since 2006 and his run to the Championship starting from round 1 has been absolutely amazing. Jason Kidd's such a smart player too and he is just as deserving. Miami's still young so they have time left, but this is probably it for Dallas. They seized the moment.

With MUCH better coaching and team chemistry. More gritty, hungry veterans in their rotation. Plus, they had no significant injuries affecting them.

I don't agree with the "garbage" part because Chalmers and Haslem are both nice role players. But I think you are right for the most part. I think it's a lesson for the rest of the league as teams like Boston and now Heat just assembled 3 stars and became an instant contender. If you can't get a superstar, it would be better to be lottery-bound than to remain mediocre (like us). At least you have a chance to land a future superstar.

Really? If talent can get you to the finals every year, then go talent.

The Bulls had their celebration on the Jazz floor when they won their last ring.

Wow props to the Mavs, their team this year was really special, amazing they went through the Lakers, OKC and now Miami all without breaking a sweat. Dirk has managed to shut up all of the Dirk haters out there, anytime somebody call him soft or a choker he'll just flash his shiny new championship ring. Cuban must also be orgasming in his pants right about now  Chances for a repeat are almost nil though, I'm not sure the Mavsketeers can replicate their performance this year. If they could then they would sweep next season, esp. with Caron Butler back.

As for Miami, they had a pretty successful season all things considered. Its not easy to win a ring when 2 of the big 3 only had this season to learn under the new coach, lets not forget Boston's big 3 wouldn't have won a ring if it weren't for Rondo, Perkins, PJ Brown and Posey...all of whom Miami don't have. Anyway, this series is a lot like MJ and the Bulls getting spanked by Detroit. I'm pretty sure they win next year and nobody will remember this year.

Its also a moral victory for $$$ball. Cuban happens to be a follower of statistical analysis, even more so than Morey. In fact the Kidd trade happened because Cuban's wonky statistical formulas concluded Kidd must be the 2nd best player in the NBA...amazingly enough it became true 2 years later.

On the other hand, I better not EVER hear another Mavs fan complain about the refs.
