As long as we are throwing out quotes: "You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with 'til ya understand who's in ruttin' command here." - Jayne
I was late to the Firefly party as well, but that show is so full of win it's a damn shame it's no longer on TV. That series was excellent, short as it was.
Man I love this series so much. Watching the whole season and then the movie really gives you an epic feel.
.... is there an episode 15? the last episode i have is 14. Objects in Space (the one with the bounty hunter)
Nope, 14 is all there is. Finish off the series by watching the movie "Serenity", which does a pretty amazing job of wrapping up the entire series story arc in just two hours.
I've heard the buzz about this show for years. Now that I finally have a TV again, I'll have to check it out.
She was beautiful in FireFly in V . . . not so much . . the Raccoon eye thing became ridiculous [I guess they were trying to make her look more severe or something] Rocket River
On Science Channel the way they advertise it, it sounds as if these are new episodes. God, I wish there were new episodes. If only... Firefly is so exceptional, I had the DVDs and went ahead and got the Blurays. There's no reason to have both sets. Since we're on the topic, I was listening to the Jay and Silent Bob Get Old podcast (highly recommended) and Jason Mewes told a story about going to some convention and meeting Morena Baccarin. He's a huge Joss Whedon fan so had a security guy take him to meet Inara. After standing next to her table for a couple minutes, she turns to him and says "WHAT THE **** DO YOU WANT?" Not an easygoing gal in real life. He did say that Summer Glau was a peach. Not in those words but I do think she possesses peach-like qualities.
Actually, even though it only lasted a season, you get a very nice story arc from Episode 1 through the movie that wraps up nicely. Plus it never had a chance to get bad over time so, all in all, we have a nice package of shows to enjoy (over and over....).
I think for me they appeal to different sensibilities depending on what kind of mood I'm in. Sometimes the sterility of Star Trek is comforting when I'm feeling cynical. The idea that humanity can progress and we're not just nurturing our self-destructive tendencies to the end. Other times, I want a gritty space western when I'm feeling at my most libertarian. And there's space hookers.
I will start watching from Episode 1 tomorrow. It will just be hard doing it tonight, when Game Of Thrones will be on my mind.
Still need to watch this series since I totally dig Serenity the movie. Another favorite tv Sci-Fi of mine is Lexx. Pure awesomeness. One of my favorite tv series. Anyone get a chance should check it out. Pretty hilarious. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_2u2Cj16ufA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
