Not to jump the gun, I still believe Miami could easily come back and win the series... Although I am rooting for Dallas. Does Dirk have a better supporting cast then Lebron did in Cleveland? With Butler in I would have said yes but since he's been out.. I really think it's been Dirk doing the majority of the work all playoffs. Although Terry finally did step it up last night.

    '10 Cavs won 61 games '11 Mavs won 57
Were Jamison Mo Verejao and Shaq when he was there really that much worse than Kid Terry Chandler? Stats wise it almost looks like Cleveland was better but I know that's not the best way to judge.

You can say well look how bad they were this season but also Verajao was out too.. How many games would Dallas win without Dirk and Chandler?

Could it be coaching, Dirk playing out of his mind, or just the players stepping in when they needed to.

    Thoughts?

Are you kidding me? Cleveland's supporting cast was a bunch of D-League scrubs.

Not even close. Dallas supporting cast is way better. Other than Chandler and Kidd, they also have Marion, Terry, and Barea.

But really I think if you took Dirk and another key piece out Chandler... I bet the Mavs would win under 15 games.

Are you insane? Besides having a starting line up of like, what, 4 or 5 current and former all stars, they have great bench depth. '10 cavs had Shaqs corpse, a washed up Jamison, and no bench.

    Clearly, Mavs.

It's not as simple as taking pieces out. It's how they fit. They absorbed the haywood and butler injuries well because they had depth at those spots...losing dirk hurts, not just because he's their go to guy, but because there's no depth at the spot. If you take chandler out now, then they have no center left. Right now the team looks weaker than it is because if injuries.

    Kidd/Barea/Beaubois
    Butler/Terry/Brewer
    Stevenson/Peja
    Marion/Cardinal
    Haywood/Mahinmi

This team would definitely win more than 15 games. If you were referring to the current team without Haywood and butler, well then it's not a fair comparison because then you'd be taking out Dirk, chandler, butler, haywood, who are all rotation players. That's like taking away Lebron, Shaq, Mo williams, and Varejao from Cleveland. They aint winning much either in that case.

Mo williams is overrated, shaq was well past his prime. Only Jamison was worth anything at that point and he's always been a numbers player, not a timely player, who steps up when needed.

Plus this dallas team is better coached, has a more experienced floor leader in Kidd, and has a better collection of clutch players.

A better comparison would be with the 06 or 07 Mavs squad.

If we took Yao out, I'd put my life savings up that we could win under 82 games
