I'm warming to Mr. Generic Republican:

    ---
    Romney flies coach

The Washington Times reports aversion to commercial air travel was one of the problems that caused the en masse resignations from the Gingrich campaign. This is an avoidable and unfortunate source of friction in a campaign.

Recently I flew from Philadelphia to Reagan National in D.C. on a U.S. Airways Embraer 170. Sitting behind me was Mitt Romney. Romney was in coach as this aircraft doesn’t have a first class section.

I will never forget what happened next. As word spread that the leading challenger to President Obama was on the flight, ground crew members and baggage handlers streamed up the stairs from the tarmac into the plane to get Romney’s autograph. They treated him like a rock star, one after another. Anyone who has followed the airline’s labor history at the Philadelphia hub knows that the local Philadelphia union is among the most belligerent in the entire commercial aviation industry, nearly wrecking the airline with “sick outs” one holiday season. If Romney gets the nomination, and the same reception in Philadelphia next November among these Reagan democrats, Obama is in trouble.

I know. You only follow Republican talking points. And you follow them to the letter. Good job. Why am I talking to basso? This accomplishes nothing. I may as well be yelling at the worms for being pink, or discussing the finer points of Athenian democracy with a carpet remnant. I guess it's because I'm at work and I want a bit of a distraction. Yeah. That's really the only reason I can think of for responding to a basso post. Well, I guess sometimes it's worth responding just to make fun of his utterly unreflective partisanship ... but he probably doesn't get that at all because he's mistaken partisanship for "truth" or something. But whatever, it's not important. Anyway I might need to go take a dump pretty soon and ... oh **** ... am I typing this? I thought I was just thinking it ... well at least I haven't hit the submi

registered voters perhaps; likely voters? different story:

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows that if Mitt Romney wins the Republican nomination, he could very well beat Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election. Romney actually slightly edges out Obama in the poll of likely voters (49–46), but the difference isn't enough to be statistically significant.

I also fly coach. Will you support me for President now?

I think flying coach is a great criteria for choosing the next President.

Especially when he flew coach, not by choice, but because the airplane didn't have a first class section.

Shocking too, that blue collar people would want the autograph of a Presidential candidate. I'm sure no Republican near Obama ever asked for his autograph.

Come on, that must have been a grueling 45 minute flight (130 miles) from Reagan to Philly. I applaud Romney for flying with the rank and file common folk on an Embraer 170 regional jet, and not requesting to be seated in the cockpit with the cabin.

Uh, the "new ABC NEews/washington Post poll" is from 3 days ago.

    Strike 1.

It's a poll of registered voters - NY Mag has it wrong - and so do you.

    Strike 2.

    It's also a massive outlier.

    Strike 3.

Yes of course. As all republicans know, blue-collar workers are dirty filthy germ houses. Romney is so brave and down to earth to have flown coach. He is truly of the people.

I wouldn't vote for Obama but I would defintiely take a picture with him, shake his hands, and ask for a autograph if given the opportunity. He is still after all the President of the United States.
