I know Francis showed more heart in real games but did he really improve his game during his entire career? On the other hand T-mac was once MIP. Your thoughts?

Disgusting that you would even speak such blasphemy. Instant ban, Steve was never the most fundamentally sound player, but the guy was a gym rat and left his heart on the floor every single night.

(Toooo bad Steve and Tracy couldn't have been healthy until 36-37 like MJ...)

    We would have rings...

    Steve Francis
    Tracy McGrady
    Shane Battier
    Luis Scola
    Yao Ming

    =O face...

I don't know if Francis was lazy. Maybe he was just too dense to understand what he needed to improve on and why.

Steve appeared to be having life problems not related to basketball. I wouldn't consider that in the 'lazy' basketball court discussion. I'm assuming the OP was talking about his basketball tenure when he was in his prime.

"Former NBA star Steve Francis was arrested Thursday night at Los Angeles International Airport, officials said.

Francis was taken into custody about 10 p.m. by airport police for resisting arrest, officials said.

He appeared intoxicated and became boisterous at one of the ticket counters, officials said."

T-Mac was lazy as hell, but had an exceptional basketball IQ.

Steve had a great work ethic, but did some of the dumbest sh-t on the court you ever saw.

Sigh... The two combined would either equal Kobe Bryant or Donte Greene.

Neither, but I said years ago that Francis would plummet as soon as his athleticism went away, because he had not learned how to play the game, whereas TMac can still be somewhat effective because he understands it better.

Better to burn out than to fade away I guess.

Francis changed his entire game to accommodate Van Gundy. Francis changed his entire diet to stave off migraines. Francis didn't have a piss-poor, laughably weak core like Tracy McGrady. That's all I know.

I wouldn't call this great work ethic:

I'll rephrase. Steve left nothing on the court in actual games.

    or this
Also, just to remind his stats in China last year:
    4 games 14 minutes 2 points (1/4 FG 0/1 3P; blocked twice BTW)
    3 rebounds 0 assist 4 turnovers 0 steal 0 block

Tmac had the same attitude in practice, by most accounts, and had the same entitled views about not having to work for playing time. Their only real difference in work ethic was on the court.

Tmac had raw unadulterated talent, and still sort of does. SF3 did not have the talent Mac did. Anyone in their right mind knows that. That being said, Mac was beyond lazy...

what exactly do you want from the post?

Was Steve Francis , when he was a good player, lazy?

or Was Steve Francis, when he is far beyond his prime that he can't hoop a bunch of chinese players, lazy?

He's not lazy. But he's definitely a ballhog.

Francis definitely loves partying and putting one in the air more.
