OP should change the title. It's not surprising that Yao only got about 30% of strength at the moment. What do you expect after the surgery without any systemic rehabilitation?

Not for 30 percent healed, it 30% strength back. It all depends on his test on August/September.

Cleverly disguised "cut the demand in China for Yao on the China Nat'l Team" article.

I'm starting to think Yao did a Magic and contracted HIV... Imagine being suppressed for years and finally being rich enough to do whatever you want? I say he might have acquired immune deficiency syndrome those why he heals so slowly or incompletely..

If Yao is healthy, then I hope that he stays a Rocket.

    Rockets' Yao: Daughter motivating comeback
Rockets center Yao Ming, whose career is in doubt after another injury-shortened season, is thinking comeback, and he thanks his one-year old daughter, Amy, for that.

"She is definitely a big motivation for me to continue my role as a player, although my foot still needs lots of treatment to meet the game's demands," Yao told Chinese state television, according to the China Daily.

"I wish she could watch me play and even win a championship as she grows up and not only see through video highlights how her dad played before."

Yao, 30, played in just five games in 2010-11 and underwent surgery on a stress fracture in his left ankle. The eight-time All-Star has struggled with injuries to his feet throughout his career, including in 2009-10, when a broken foot sidelined him for the entire season.

Yao's contract expires this summer, though both Rockets owner Les Alexander and new coach Kevin McHale have said they'd like to see him return.

Although i donot like the Heat, i would't mind Yao joinning them, given that the chance of winning a title is quite high there.

I wish he would have come out and say this a few years ago. Save us all the time and heartache. Hell Morey could have imploded the team much sooner.

The Houston Rockets' all-star center brought his one-year-old daughter, Amy, to China last month for the first time since her birth in the United States.
    _____

This is a bit of a gem from the article -- sounds like Yao wants his daughter to be an American.

That's essentially what I got out of the short question and answer. Whether the Rockets should subject the franchise to another season beginning with "The Yao Question" yet again, and the cost involved (costs of many kinds, not just financial) is another story. I just don't know. My gut says he's done, but I really respect the big guy for his effort to keep coming back. The rehab has to be brutal and he's gone through it again and again.

There is no future in the Rockets. Yao, pls leave and join a Championship team and stop being so loyal. I suggest the Lakers.
