Yes, but Horny never put up the kinds of numbers Ray did in his prime. But I just looked back at Ray's stats and they aren't as good as I thought-- he really took a hit the last few years as he's been in his twilight. He's top-10 for sure, though.
WTF are you talking about? The commentators praised Kobe on how even though he only scored like 15 points he manage like 16 rebounds and some assists, he let Artest and Pau take it home that game...
What are you getting at? Kobe did make up for his bad shooting game with good rebounding numbers but that doesn't excuse his shot selection in that game. The Celtics were constantly forcing him into impossible shots and he just kept taking them again and again. You won't find a bigger Kobe fan than me but even I have to admit that he was in full jack mode that game because he wanted his all time great moment. If you honestly don't think Kobe was taking bad shots in that game then you really don't know basketball.
Yeah, for some reason I had it in my mind that he was closer to a 25ppg guy than a 20ppg guy. I think if he had a more aggressive attitude he would have put up huge numbers, though, because the guy can hit from anywhere and is an underrated driver.
I sat straight up in my chair just now. Let me read on to see if anyone else obliterated this post before i go on a rant.....
Replace Kobe with wade and Shaq would still carry them to 3 titles in a row. Horry would save their A$$ against the Kings, Fisher against the Spurs with the .4 sec shot, in the Orlando Finals series, Gasol over OKC, Ron Artest against the suns and game 7 of the finals. Wade is just as great if not better, just unfortunate.
They would have won at least 4 because no way does Wade blow it against Detroit in 2004 (and prob. not to SA in 2003 either). Wade did a lot more in 2006 with a lesser Shaq.
So you are saying Wade would beat Clyde in a dunk contest? Even more so, have better dunks in a game? You said Wade gets into the paint and finishes at the rim like Clyde, which is true. But the major difference is that Clyde started outside the paint and flew to the rim to finish strong. And I am just debating athletecism right now. Wade is a superior athelete compared to the league right now, but not quite on Clyde's level.
lol @ bringing up Jermaine O'neal as an example for Wade having a supporting cast last year or whenever O'neal was with the Heat. It's like some of you look at the name and forget to look at how washed up they were on in your argument.
Ray Allen the second best shooting guard of all-time? That's it I'm taking my shirt and exiting this thread. I have heard it all now.
Wade pull out a performance of ECSF this year and they'd lose easily. Wade did well in finals, but he isn't even as consistent as Kobe.
You gotta love the finals. All season long it was Rose, Howard, Dirk, and Lebron...somehow after some great finals performances Wade leap frogs all four and is the best player in the game.
