The warriors are shopping ellis, should the rockets make a run at him?

Monta could be our offensive spark off the bench, like jason terry and ginobili.

    I would trade KM + 14 for Ellis + 11.

I don't think Morey would, because he values efficiency too much. I value efficiency, too, but think Ellis makes up for his lack of efficiency, relative to Kevin Martin, by being a much better ballhandler who can create for himself, and is younger.

Ellis is probably the most underrated scorer in the league. Yeah he’s a ball hog, but scorers need the ball to score. I think he’s had enough of the crappy situation to which he was drafted in and is ready to put his head on straight. Though, aren’t reports saying he’s going to the lakers?

Regardless, if you ain’t diggin Monta then you ain’t diggin good hoops. The dude is amazing.

    Per 36:

    Kevin Martin: 17.5 FGA
    Monta Ellis : 18 FGA

But how many shots were taken within the offense?

I wouldn't mind that trade, KM for Monta, since Monta is younger.
But I really don't like his attitude, what if he thinks he in a ruff ryder video again and has to have his leg amputated?

Just pointing out he's not really that much of a ball hog -- I think that's actually a misconception about his game (shared by many on here). He plays 40 minutes a night as the first option, so naturally his FGA is going to be higher than say Martins who only plays 32MPG.

    Well said.

It becomes more & more obvious too many clutchfans don't watch too much basketball. Players clutchfans initially said no too:

    Zach Randolph

    Tyson Chandler

    Brendan Haywood

    Monte Ellis

All of these players are players we could use, but almost NOBODY wanted a year ago.
This over analytical way of evaluating players has us passing up some solid players

I'll take Kmart. Really just a lateral move anyways.

Agreed. Also, as a response, pretty much all of Monta's shots were taken within the offense... since it is Golden State's offense we're talking about here. There's not a shot that isn't within the confines of the offense they ran.

It'll be interesting to see what West and Jackson do with that squad. Certainly understand their desire to get their kind of players, but it would also be interesting to see if the players they have can at least be closer to their kidn of players with the right coaching.

That's something you never really get a chance to see. New coach and/or GM comes in and inevitably you have player turnover to make the roster fit the coach.

KM for Ellis is a fairly lateral move, as I noted. But I think it makes some sense for GS. Martin isn't a defensive glue guy like Iguodala, but he doesn't need the ball in his hands at all, and they'd be a great offensive backcourt and better fit with Curry - though still a sieve defensively. Martin also gets paid slightly less and has 1 less year on the contract.

He's no better than Martin and there is not room for both of them. Pass.

Actually, I think Tyson Chandler and Brendan Haywood were players people strongly supported getting. Sure, there will always be SOMEBODY opposed to any move - but I think those two would have been popular. Zach Randolph wasn't a popular move because Zach Randolph has never played defense before going to Memphis but he sure has always liked to get arrested and cause problems in the locker room! Sure, in retrospect, those of us who didn't support that move appear to be wrong so far. But it's understandable that people didn't want a knucklehead of his caliber on the Rockets.

As for Monta, I prefer Kevin Martin.

I'm with you. Not sure how it would work with KM, but still...Monta can play.
