That's a bit of a stretch. The last three games have all come down to the final possession, and Game 1 was a four-point game with four to go. This has been about as evenly matched a series as you can find. I wouldn't be surprised by either team winning in 6 or 7 - just depends on who makes the plays late.

The one point I'll make that may not have been made yet is how ridiculously high Dirk's basketball IQ is. I've hated the guy his whole career, but now that I'm on his side, it's easier to gain an appreciation. To make his move to the basket with 12 seconds on the shot clock (16 on game), up 1... it's as gutsy as you'll ever see. If he misses, Miami has it, down 1, with enough time to run any play that they want.

But while it's gutsy, it's also so intelligent - he caught Haslem a bit flat-footed and Wade wasn't anticipating needing to help so soon (he eventually came, but a half-second late). It was a somewhat similar scenario to the end of Game 2, as well. Most other players, like Rose in Game 4 against the Heat, play by the book, milk every second and allow the defense to see what's coming. Dirk thinks two steps ahead, and as a fan of smart basketball, it's a joy to watch.

Great point. Nowitzki said he made his play early in Game 2 because he was expecting the foul. But he might have learned what an advantage the element of surprise can be and used it in Game 4.

Also, I notice with a full shot clock, Haslem had as much success as Bosh in defending Nowitzki one-on-one.

Last night was one of the worse games I've ever seen james play in the nba. Not only did helack consistent aggression offensively, marion really did him dirty in the 3rd. If he doesn't put up a very good game in a win for game 5, I'm going to change what I think about him as a player.

In regards to the series, I still think its miami's to lose. One of these games soon ,wade, james, and bosh are going to play great at the same time. Bosh has seemed to figure his spots out, wade has been killing, but james is due for a james game. Dallas just has so much trouble producing points right now for majority of the game. We will see and nothing surprises me.

You don't get half court violations from a tip

hence why he tipped it and didn't take control of it.

I haven't watched the Mavs this closely in years, mainly because most years I cannot stand them. But I must say, with the exception of Terry's complete mental ineptitude on the defensive end and still being slightly annoyed by Dirk's on-court personality (his game is beautiful to watch), the Mavs are a joy to watch.

If you're a fan of the game of basketball and want to preserve the purity of the game, you are rooting for the Mavs right now. Offensively, the Heat are not much more than a bunch of talented guys playing pick-up ball.

Can someone advice dirk, call him or email him of this fast, so they dont even try. I mean, a random guy named Sammy from clutchfans forums already dictated that dallas cant win on miami. The mavericks organization needs to know this so dirk can rest his fever at home.
Sammy u must got some inside . Is it the unleashing of Erick Dampier ? Lebron growing some balls? Bosh getting all though inside?

you already lost game 2 by not being aggressive down the stretch and you do it again. he just seemed lost, i agree with you. that game was there for the taking for him to finish.

You're confusing the 3 point line with the halfcourt line.

How desperate are people to find the game to be riggeD?

Terry's foot was on the line when he started the dribble, that angle just sucks

What made Dirk's layup possible was that not only was he able to beat Haslem off the dribble, D-Wade was about a step too late to help, and The Messiah Himself simply watched Dirk streak by as he expended his talents denying Jason Terry the ball.

MIA is getting exposed. When DAL runs its zone, they fall apart. They only score off lay-ups and dunks and putbacks. In the 4th quarter, they don't run any offense but just put the ball into the hands of Lebron and Wade. Of course, Wade is fatigued by then. He must be saying--nothing's changed, I'm still carrying all the load here.

Can we focus on how much of a non-factor you were, LeBron? Or is that not allowed? It's quite funny as to how he expects all of us to witness his awesomeness and 1337ness while at the same time he expects us to look the other way when he lays a stinker like last night...

Only time will tell. Before game 4, Miami had led in the fourth quarter of games all but 6 seconds. They were up all game last night.

It's my prediction, buddy. You can take it with a grain of salt. Don't get all butt hurt that I think that Miami will win this series.

Huh?? Didn't DAL have the lead last night at about the 3-4 min mark?

MIA should be worried that they cannot keep leads. The longer the game goes and the series, the more wear and tear experienced by their Big 3, especially Wade.

I was referring to the fourth quarters in games 1-3. They were up all game last night as in they had the lead until the 3-4 minute mark like you mentioned.

If you think Dirk's shot at the end of the game was gutsy, check out Wade's block on Chandler. If he doesn't block that shot Chandler dunks on him and gets the and 1.

Wade was easily the best player on the court. Dirk shot 30% from the field and scored 21 pts on 19 shots. I laugh when I see Jordan flu game comparisons.
