Why the heck have we gone away from the afternoon nap, especially in the South? We're wired for it, it's bloody hot, and no one wants to do jack around 2PM.
I thought I read somewhere that a study showed that people allowed to take 30-45 minute naps while at work actually improved their output. All I have to do is bring in cot and I'm good to go. Of course, until then, if it hits me and I just have to sleep, I'll go to my car and take a nap during my lunch break, as long as it's not too hot outside. Pugs
This is a great MEXICAN tradition that should only be expanded to Mexicans living in foreign land... we'll keep this our tradition. But, seriously speaking, y'all are staying up TOO late watching dumb television shows.
In India as well they take an afternoon nap and I think in other parts of the world people get like a 2-3 hour lunch so that they can take a nap and then come back to work and work till 7-8 or so and found that most people were far more productive that way. Maybe its just me as I am getting older but lately I have found that I could really use an afternoon nap now and then
I like naps, but the thought of having to go back into work after a nice restful nap to put in another 3-5 hours seems pretty harsh. Not to mention the gas for an extra commute.
I always ask why don't break rooms have couches. that way, you can get a thirty minute power nap right there if it isn't taken.
They're actually starting to do a way with it in Spain, because many global companies are adapting to the American way.
