he didn't start this thread, i did.

i didn't say anything biased against adelman in this thread. i'm just being fair to the ROCKETS and to ALL their coaches. how you could possibly interpret this as disrespect against adelman is beyond me. maybe you have your own bias, but don't put that on other people.

    it's on you™.

Of course I did. Anyone who does not share the opinion that Adelman was the greatest coach the Rockets ever had are actually all one collective hivemind posting under the spambot queen AnnaMegan.

Saying Rudy is the winningest coach in Rockets hsitory is a disrespect to Adelman? News to me.

I've said more times than I can count that I was fine with Adelman the coach. Was he perfect? No one is. As for objective discussion, just point to where I am not being objective and I'd gladly clarify. It just happens that I've been taking the other side a few times since there are already so many speaking for Adelman, even when their arguments make little sense. In an effort to keep the universe balanced, keep the ying to the yang, I am merely offering a differing voice, instead of, uh, "blending in". You go ahead and do that though.

Nobody took that lineup to a winning record. The Rockets were a net negative when they were on the floor. Good players like Lowry and Landry carried last year's team, this is just a fact.

    No Del Harris?

I know he was not here long but he did coach an underdog team to the NBA
    finals

cxbby, instead of disputing the obvious fact, just go look up morey's record as gm, i'm sure its the best (really it has to be) and you can start another thread worshipping him.

I'd rather finish last 5 years in a row then win a championship than make the playoffs 6 years in a row.

I'd have a terrible win loss record in the former compared to the latter, but no one remembers the guy who came 4th.

He didn't take them to a winning record, he took them to 5 games under 0.500. After DM showed him boss, the team finished with a winning record.

Dude they are NOT scrubs (Scola, Martin, Lowry) they may not be all-stars but def not scrubs, we would have made the playoffs with a decent big and if we get one im sure McHale will get us in the playoffs this year.

Yeah I love how CFs consider top 10 players at their position to be scrubs.

Everytime one of them overly praises RA's success they're indirectly showing us how little they actually know about talent evaluation and basketball in general.

Do you ever make relevant posts?

We DIDN'T make the playoffs, so saying 43 wins is some sort of miracle given we have top 10 players at multiple positions starting for us is laughable to say the least.

Our starting lineup is better than Chicago and OKC (you people can ignorantly laugh all you want, facts are facts) and yet we were mediocre while they almost made it to the finals. This is partially because our overall talent is poor and partially because Yao is down.

But also very much in the equaion is RA's terrible coaching. Playing AB over Lowry and with Martin costs games. Playing Hill over Patt costs games. Not starting Chuck costs games. Luckily he learned from some mistakes (and DM was nice enough to help him out with his AB love affair) but it was too little too late.

TLDR: it's really dumb to give so much credit to a coach for getting slightly above average results with a team with slightly above average talent.

Statistically speaking, ashishduh might be the worst poster on this site. :)
