Exactly. Karl Malone has 0 rings because he is a douchebag, sorry excuse of a human being, scumbag who deserves 0 rings. Rep.
Kobe has never played with a 2nd teammate as good as Tony Parker. Kobe has never played with a defender like Bruce Bowen. Are we supposed to stop paying attention after one player?
Obviously the Rockets had talent. But those were not definite HOF guys like on the teams I listed which each at least had two. Also Tim had David Robinson on his first championship. Manu is a top 10 all time SG IMO and he is also a lock for the HOF. Parker is also a HOFamer since Finals MVP is a lock into it. Duncan and his 4 rings has had 3 HOFamers and Kobe has had one.
Do you remember who scored the last free throws of game 6 of last year's nba finals? missing free throws probably isn't something big in someone's memory. Kobe and the whole laker team got carried by prime shaq in the early 00's, he was their 2nd best player clearly, but it was what it was, and that was Shaq and co. He was young and inexperienced mind you, now 2004, he pretty much chucked (literally) the finals series. Kobe had some great years esp from 2005 onwards, but one thing sort of stands out in Wade vs Kobe. Kobe had 7 finals series and not once played better than Wade did in 06, and arguably not better than Wade has this year, Wade may well not be as good as Kobe in the day in day out play (and Lebron is much better than both of them at "the grind"), but on the biggest stage, Wade has performed way above any of them.
Are you really equating the 06 and 11 Mavericks Defense with the juggernauts Kobe faced in the Finals? 04 Pistons 95.4 01 76ers 98.9 08 Celtics 98.9 02 Nets 99.5 09 Magic 101.9 00 Pacers 103.6 10 Celtics 103.8 vs 2011 Mavs 105.0 2006 Mavs 105.0
06-07 Lebron was on the same level as Wade's 06. Even Wade himself can't really lay claim to what Lebron has done with less talent. What makes Wade seem better is that when wade does have talent: Shaq, Lebron and Bosh, he looks like the best player on the team. But wade couldn't have done what lebron did at 22 no less.
I think kobe and wade are about the same... who do I want taking over the last 5mins of a game? Wade who do I want taking the last shot? Kobe
Wade is a freak of nature literally. He's got the arm length of and hand size of a guy well over 7ft. Have you guys ever seen a 6'4" get up so high and even contest people like 7'1 Chandler or Dirk and block their shot like that? Wade to me is more of a physical freak than Lebron. I think Wades strength and power would put make Jordan wonder in awe. This guy really gets up and plays at just above the top of the box. You combine that with his speed too.. just wow.
No I'm saying Tony Parker is better than Glen Rice, Robert Horry, Derrick Fisher and Lamar Odom (2x).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwnKpUGfl4Y 8 minutes of kobe clutch from 1999 - 2005 (6 years) can anyone post a wade clutch video of 8 minutes in his entire career?
James will play better than Wade for most of the regular season, his athleticism means against the majority of teams he just runs through them like a locomotive. But come Finals time, Wade's more complete game (Wade is much much much better in a slow half court game) will generally come to the front. I'm specifically talking about when the competition goes from 'the grind' of the regular season and becomes when it matters. Lebron has been a deer in the headlights of the half court game.
I'm sure Kobe and any other decent SG could've played like Wade in the '06 finals. Hell a lot of them can make their free throws at a decent percentage too right? One thing I gotta ask though, how do you incorporate whistles in a pickup game?
Kobe averaged 34/9/6 against Queens/Spurs in 8 games sweep in 2001 playoff, including 2 games in which Lakers coming back from 10 pts down in 4th quarter and Kobe was unstoppable. That alone beat anything LeBron ever done in playoff. Now Wade averaged more points than LeBron in ECSF, Bosh had 23.2/.600 vs. LeBron's 24.7/.447 in ECF, and we are talking about how LeBron was the man in those series? If Shaq carried Lakers when Kobe had averaged 34/9/6 against best teams in the league, it's safe to say Wade/Bosh carried Heat in this year's playoff run. Don't forget Kobe also led the comeback in game 7 2000 WCF. Scored 30 in game 1, 5,6,7 of 2002 WCF against queens. In 3 games he's plagued with poisoned burger, Lakers looked very vulnerable and was lucky to win one with Horry's 3pt shot.
No, he simply picks the same guy that the majority of players and coaches choose in that situation. And sure those guys don't know anything about basketball. Sometimes I wonder why clippy isn't an NBA head coach by now, his Clipper fan resume looks impressive.
Don't be dumb guys, The best SG ever after MJ is Vince Carter of course. 1. MJ 2. Vince Carter 3. Brandon Roy 4. Allen Iverson might be a bit biased though. In terms of Kobe vs Dwade vs AI convo. I still think DWade is behind both. Wade had this godlike season after his comeback when he won the scoring title. He was pretty much unguardable. I still don't think he is as polished and as complete of a player as Kobe was. He relied on his speed and athleticism to score, and is still a bit iffy on those long jumpers. I don't know why people are downplaying iverson here. Iverson was pretty dominating offensively if I remember correctly and he had more impact on a team in the playoffs more than Wade did.
Disagree. I think it depends on who you ask. If you ask someone under 30 the definition of "better", they immediately assume who has better highlights. If you ask someone over 30, they assume better competitor, leader, all around player. Placing D-Wilkins as a SF, I would say Wade is top 3 SG all time in highlight reels. However, he is not on the level of Jordan, Kobe, or even Clyde. I even place iverson ahead of him in terms of overall scoring/defense. Kobe, Jordan, Clyde, and even iverson for his size were elite 1 on 1 defenders. With the exception of iverson, these guys could lock down 1-3 on the court for long stretches. Wade has proven he can shoot the gaps, and cause havoc in the passing lanes for break away dunks. That in my opinion makes him great all time, but short of elite. Iverson was by far a better ball handler, shooter, passer, and was quicker. Wade is performing out of his mind, and his highlights are up there. But there are so many guys that put up similar numbers in the finals. Just because ginobili did it with an off balanced layup instead of a break away dunk doesn't make wade "better" in my opinion.
LOL. Defense? Wade is the best defensive player of all time under 6-6 without a double. None of the people you mentioned apart from Jordan can even hold a candle to what Wade does defensively.
