He deserves all the titles he has, just like Fisher and Horry do. What he doesn't deserve is being called a top-tier player unless we are talking about some kind of longevity award (eg, Alex English being a top-tier player of the 80s). Kobe has never even been the best player in the NBA for any season, much less a career.
Not a big fan of Lebron either. Wade is legit. The guy can be considered with any player really. But say we compare Kobe to Iverson. In that final series Iverson put on a performance that rivaled what Hakeem did to Robinson. I've never seen Kobe come close to Iverson's level that series. Even Steve Nash has had legendary performances that are better than anything Kobe has done. Wade has had iverson-like performances as well. Chris Paul's performances have been better than Kobe's in my opinion.
I am calling bull****. I'd say from 2005-2009, he has been the best single player in the game. Led his teams to 2 championships during that era (3 finals appearances, 2 finals MVPs), 1 MVP, 2 scoring titles (an 81 point game), bunch of All-NBA 1st Teams (also All-NBA Defensive 1sts which I do not feel were deserved to be honest).
But could barely got out of the first round until Gasol draped a Lakers uni. And yes Shaq could have won 1 or 2 easily with a marginal SG. In their first finals, Kobe was terrible while Shaq averages some Godly numbers (37 and 18). In case you missed it, Shaq is arguably the most dominant big man of all-time.
LeBron was better than Kobe in every season from 2005 to 2009. When they had comparable teams, LeBron's teams did better. Now that LeBron has comparable talent, he's in the Finals and Kobe is sitting at home. You can't go by team performance since their teams have been so different; you have to go by numbers and LeBron is simply better there (although using tonight as an example of that won't work since LeBron turned into Jason Kidd WTF).
Again what did Wade do without Shaq again? The heat were just playoff fodder when Shaq left. When Shaq started to age even a bit the Heat began to struggle.
His supporting cast wasn't that good. The season they traded for Gasol he probably would have gotten out of the 1st round if the trade had not been mad but he would not have won a title. Idk what this whole argument is but if the Lakers traded Kobe instead of Shaq the Lakers would have still struggled. In Shaq's prime he always played with a very good wing man.
Not really unless you missed the previous two seasons of the NBA where Kobe won two finals MVPs, a MVP, and 2 championships.
I'll take Wade over Kobe. Put him on those Lakers teams with Shaq and he'd win three titles as well. Put Kobe on that Heat team and Miami doesn't win their first championship.
All I'm saying that he would have won a couple regardless by simply inserting a SG that could average..let's say 17-20 points per game efficiently.
Sure about that? I don't remember Kobe missing big time FTs and fumbling the ball when his team needed him. Any ways the whole "If you take..." and "Put so and so here..." is a argument that no one can win.
