You said it better than I did. The simple fact is, it was "Lebron's team" for the regular season and up until this series (more or less) and people absolutely revel in his poor production this series.

He's playing team basketball, and doing what he has to do, for his team to win.

LeBron Not Concerned About Winning Finals MVP

LeBron James was asked if the only true validation of his decision to join the Heat would be winning Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals.

“I’m here to win,” James said. “That’s all it’s about. Individual accolades take care of itself.

“I’ve got two MVP trophies sitting in my house back in Ohio and I haven’t won anything. It doesn’t matter to me. It’s all about a team game and this is the ultimate team prize right here, just trying to win the NBA championship.

“So I don’t really care. I could trade in my last two MVP trophies to have a ring. I don’t care about individual accolades to solidify myself in the NBA or whatever they’re talking about. It’s ridiculous.”

the thing is: 20 pts on 51% fg and 48% 3s, 6 boards, 6 dimes, and shut down D on dallas' 2nd best scorer?

that's not poor production. but that's not the production that we expect from lebron.

lebron is having a poor offensive game production-wise, but he's playing a very composed game. any other star could try to shoot themselves out of a slump, but he's trying to impact the game in every other way possible.

 

Eh the team lebron dragged to the finals in 2007 was much much worse than the 2006 champions
