I actually really like these. If you know the logo history of the Rockets you'll see the San Diego reference in these.
Oh yes the rockets due need a new uniform, the ones they have are freaking ugly. I think they should make the Ketchup and mustard unis. their official uniforms.
This looks amazing. Do what you can to get the front office to notice this court and jersey concept. Happy to vote, sign a petition, whatever it takes to get rid of the hideous crap the team wears now. CAN WE AT LEAST GET NEW UNI'S FOR NEXT SEASON SINCE WE CAN'T GET A STAR????????????????
Sorry to revive an old thread, watching the Finals has me bummed (including the clip of Hakeem and OT hugging after the first Championship in the ABC Finals pre-game intro). Here's my very rough take on my idea I mentioned earlier in the thread (only thing missing is inclusion of Houston skyline):
Based on my post above, I know I totally contradict my statement about looking less like the Championship years logo. If I had more PS skills I would get rid of the red rings around the basketball and do something different. ElPigto, I hear ya, trust me - would love to go back to the old logos and jerseys, but has a team ever done that? Also, kind of felt the yellow in logos/jerseys back then prevented some people from wearing more Rockets gear. Trying to change it up a little, but I agree, I dont know how I feel about the gray. Here's a rough take on the jersey:
Actually this one with the rocket in gray is very nice. I like it the most. The one with the city in gray is my 2nd best.
ehhh....it looks cheezy to me. I love your court and uniform designs but this logo just isn't as nice. Instead I would much prefer the original logo from the 80s and early 90s to go with your court and uniform ideas.
I like the Rocket option, but think the rocket used (i.e. the actual space shuttle), might be a little too literal. Maybe just use the space shuttle outline, or something like that. It works for GS because the golden gate bridge is so iconic. But they didn't exactly put an exact picture of the bridge in there... it's a play on the bridge. You need that with the Rocket / Logo. I'd also agree the colors need tweaking a bit. Maybe yellow instead of gray. Or just a bolder gray - it feels somewhat of a muted color pallete to me. But overall, great stuff.
not my court design - that was josephnicks. but his court utilizes the old school fonts that i think we need to bring back. thanks for the feedback guys, i'll play around with the logos/colors more.
A agree that there is too much emphasis in bringing the yellow back. A little yellow trip would be nice, but putting to much in gives us the McDonald's look. We are biased in loving it due to the championship years, but EVERY friend of mine who is not a rockets fan has seen this thread and don't like any of the logos/uniforms that have a lot of yellow in them. I think the best is to have a small yellow trim, but keep the silver as is now, and use the old lettering from the championship years. A previous jersey with the old lettering but number fonts of the current logos were my favourite. It had no yellow trim, but just the tiniest yellow trim could be the finishing touches.
Thanks JayZ750. Here's Logo Option 3: I know people will dislike the Rocket used, but I think it doesnt look half bad without the face. For those that dislike, please post a link to a photo of a Rocket I could use and I will photoshop it in.
The gray, red, and yellow color scheme is hideous. As bad as the red and yellow alone is, that is 10x worse. If you want three colors try red, gray, and blue or black. You might also try a black border on the text so it doesn't blend into the same colored rocket so much.
agree, I've been playing around in PS so much honestly I have no idea what looks good and what doesn't, so I appreciate the feedback. Here's another look, Logo Option 4: I do want to have yellow in there somewhere, not sure how to add it in subtly though. Keep the feedback coming.
