Kinda cheesy, but I like it. Props to the dad for being "out there" and trying to do something crazy and memorable for his son. Cliff Notes version: Dad dresses up in a different character every morning of the school year and waves at the bus his 10th grade son is on when it passes in front of their house. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...hool-year-waving-at-bus-embarrassing-son.html
at first I was really impressed with his pirate's peg leg and how he hid his real leg...then i realized that he didnt have one
I would literally shoot my Dad to death if he did that. I could handle it if I was a toddler in kindergarten or thereabouts...but 10th grade? He would have one rebellious son on his hands if he did that. It would implode in his face up until the time I shot him. lol
He should just do a various kinds of pirates everyday instead. Or maybe a robot. Like a beat down Terminator with one leg.
If the kid has enough self-confidence, it could easily be turned into "your parents are hilarious" instead of "haha you're parents are dorks just like you". Gotta be able to play it off in a slick way.
This.. if it was so embarrassing to his kid I think he would have stopped a long time ago. Besides, the kids on the bus probably get a good kick out it.
lol. I was kidding. I would never let my Dad do that, though. We would have problems and I would make his life hell. High school is hard enough without your Dad playing the proverbial fool and adding to the misery. Kids are cruel and they would tee off in school with this subject material.
If this was my school, kids at first probably would have made fun of me for a few days, but once they realized it was an everyday occurrence, they would start appreciating it, and start looking for the different costumes. The only kids who would have thought this was lame would be the Delta Bravos who were too busy judging everyone to actually have a sense of humor. I would have gotten a kick out of this though if my dad had done this.
That's what I was thinking -- who has the time to assemble a new costume every morning? Nevermind the expense.
