I know it seems that way, but LeDwayne Wames is a supersymmetric force of a fundamental nature, even when compared to MJ and Pippen. You feel me? I think they are greater than Batman and Robin and should have their own Marvel series where they beat up Batman and Robin. Then they should join pairs figureskating and really demonstrate their full athletic repartoire.
Better than Jordan/Pippen, Shaq/Kobe, Dream/Drexler, and Moses/Dr. J.? I'd take any of those 4 duos for one season over Wade/Bron.
I fell asleep.. Icehouse, you have provided a good argument, better than anyone would have.. especially better than those who resort to simply saying I'm a hater blah blah blah.. (clippy) or simply providing no argument at all (SacTown/Octavanius) those guys have no substance, but you kept going on and on.. even though we still don't see eye to eye on this and we'll probably never agree with each other.. it's alright though, because what you did was commendable, and respectful.. and I applaud you for that. *Shakes hand* As for LeBron, my stance is still the same. Nothing will change that. My opinion is not an unpopular one, it is not one that has no basis, neither is it a result of ignorance. I simply expected better from a player of his potential, that is to achieve true glory in the way I had imagined it (again, not necessarily in the form of staying with the Cavs). But he did what he did and I can't do anything about it, except to root against this great player from winning his championships. But in all likelihood, he will win a lot of rings, and I will simply stress myself out if I cared too much about it, that is why I decided a long time ago that all I'll just simply... enjoy the ride and watch history unfold.
Stating that Lebron+Wade may be the best 1/2 punch ever isn't really that outlandish. All of the other options (MJ+Pip, Magic+Kareem, Bird+McHale, Kobe+Shaq, Hakeem+Sampson, Duncan+Robinson) are close.
Or how he a selfish ballhog. Lebron being more aggressive to win = he a selfish ballhog (funny comin from Kobe fanboys) Lebron passing more to win = he not aggressive enough, wade is better, blah blah blah No matter wat he do, peoples is gon have some stupid critisicm
There's a difference between best duo ever and most accomplished duo ever. The first can refer to a duo that was amazing but maybe only had a very short time together or just had a great short peak. The second requires great longevity as well. Still, James/Wade is not the best duo of all time. I would take the Shaq/Kobe duo (when they were getting along) before James/Wade because it gives you a better inside/outside punch.
It isn't outlandish at all. I'm in my 30's and watched MJ growing up. He's the best ever hands down and it isn't even close, but Pippen couldn't take over if MJ got shut down for whatever reason. Lebron and Wade are equal when it comes to taking over a game when the other one is off. I would say Shaq/Kobe, but you guys have to remember that Kobe wasn't in his prime at that time. I'd take prime shaq and prime kobe over lebron/wade, but bron and wade are in their prime right now and we are watching history. I stand by my statement. Best 1/2 punch ever all things considered. Offense/Defense.
Pippen is a superstar in his own right. He led his team to the finals when MJ left, in fact the Bulls only had like 2-5 more losses after MJ left, and his production ballooned when he became the first option. As far as "best" 1/2 punches ever, prime MJ/Pippen would make this duo cry, so would Magic/Jabbar and of course the Hakeem/Sampson. Don't forget Tmac/Yao
That's err... premature "celebration"? The best ever produces hardware. I doubt Lebron even have a nailclipper? So at this point in time, you should not even whisper that declaration. To be able to compare to other tandem/s that has proven results and rings, you need more reasonable time/period to compare to. LeDwayne duo have yet to finish the season, and recent history will tell you, 7 minutes is a long time. Even if they win it all this time, you still can't reasonably state that they are "the best ever". Don't be carried away by the moment. Here's what I'll give you though, LeDwayne do have legitimate shot as the best 1-2 punch. Same as the others...:grin:
i think it's because there really isn't a talent gap. the heat won 58 games, not 68. and the big 3 were pretty much healthy the entire season and playing hard every night, so it's not like they just cruised into these 58 wins lakers-style. maybe a few bounces go their way in some close games and they get to 60, but they pretty much maxed out with this roster. and that was still only the 3rd best record in the league. and if the celtics hadn't thrown themselves a 2 month long pity party after the perkins trade, it would have been the 4th best record. hell, the mavs would have most likely made it to 60 if not for dirk missing those 9 games in a row where they went 2-7. the heat are 14-4 in the playoffs, which seems really good, but their last 9 wins have all been close and were won in the 4th quarter. boston game 2 - tied 80-80 boston game 4 - trailing by 3 with 2 minutes left boston game 5 - trailing by 6 with 4 or 5 minutes to go chicago game 2 - not sure if they trailed, but it was tied (73-73 i think) chicago game 4 - went to OT chicago game 5 - down 12 with 3 minutes to go dallas game 1 - can't remember the smallest margin in the 4th but only up 4 going into the 4th dallas game 3 - tied with 2 minutes left they haven't had a blowout since the philly series and were actually blown out in both of their losses to boston and chicago, because they really aren't that much more talented. if lebron doesn't tear it up in the 4th quarter of the first 7 of those 9 and wade wasn't here for the last 2, they might be at home. i mean they're starting mike bibby! i don't wanna look but i think his playoff PER is still in the low single digits. and juwan howard has gotten minutes in the finals. now if miller and haslem were healthy, then it could be argued they have more talent. but miller's being held together with glue and duct tape right now and haslem has barely made a shot since his surprise game against chicago after being off for 6 months.
No it didnt. This is just Bullsh** If LeBron stayed in Cleveland, you haters would have been bashing him for not "winning" a title in Cleveland I see some of the same hate and vitriol even from the same posters going back to when he didn't hug D Howard after losing to the Magic. If the Heat win it, they would have earned it just like every other team before them and every team after It sure is hilarious to see this guy getting the last laugh on you bitter enders
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2011-06-06-2302149411_x.htm Ratings remain high for NBA finals ESPN says ratings for the NBA finals remain as high as they've been in the last seven years. Through three games of the Miami-Dallas series, broadcasts on ABC are being seen by an average of 15,311,000 viewers. Miami's victory in Game 3 at Dallas on Sunday night earned an 11.1 overnight rating, marking the 22th straight time a finals game has been the most-watched program on a given evening, according to Nielsen. Ratings are up 15 percent over the last Miami-Dallas series in 2006. Viewership is up slightly over last year's series between traditional powers Boston and the Los Angeles Lakers. Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Overnight ratings measure the country's largest markets.
I don't see how you can say that it doesn't affect the fans and the game. His decision basically decided the championship this year. It was fully within the rules and there is nothing wrong with his decision but to say it didn't affect the league at all is ridiculous. You know if you weren't so quick to defend Lebron and read some of the other posts I have made you would notice that I've said time and time again that I think Lebron made the right decision by leaving Cleveland. So no I wouldn't be hating on Lebron for staying in Cleveland because I thought it was a bad situation and he should have left. I just don't agree with him teaming up with Wade/Bosh.
